I could try to tell why it is effortless to deal with my own death, I could name Epicurean takes about the concept but that would just be argumentative. I don't think I'm seeing things the way I see them using reasoning. Or if it truly is reasonable then I didn't get the chance to uncover the logic I'm using.

For all I remember, as a teen already I wasn't preoccupied by death. It didn't change. Though I have at least one friend running this preoccupation in the background and I see that the topic is quite taboo for her, it stings and as it stings she seems to bury the topic (pun intended).

I don't know why you're asking, if it's curiosity or preoccupation, I can just say this relation to our own death seems difficult to grasp. The whys are difficult to grasp, it looks terribly personal...

I generally don't think about it unless truly depressed and dysphoric to the point of suicide ideation. (Warning to those who want to report this post, I'm not currently suicidal so it doesn't count). I think it's just one of those things where I have more important day to day things to worry about like my kids. I'm sure as I get older it might cross my mind more.
