Why do most people who believes in God seem to want to prove that they know more about God and his word than the next person does?

That argument holds true in every topic, debate, belief. Whatever, WHATEVER a person knows, he thinks he's the most knowledgeable about it. Politics, psychology, economy, philosophy, sports, you name it. Not just limited to religion and spirituality.

People that compete about beliefs are clearly not as informed as they believe or they would know faith is a connection with God not a competition on who's better
