What do you think of books that combine traditions together?

I learned through google that there is an aboriginal Christian who wrote about how he uses his aboriginal culture to interpret the teachings of Christianity and his book is very popular.

I am considering doing something like that too but with a different culture.

Yeah, Paul in 1 Corinthians 9:19-23 talks about something like that in which he appeals to different cultures of people and relates the Gospel back to their culture so that he could save some..

The term you are looking for is Syncretism. This practice is the norm for the human experience. As an example, Christianity adopted many pagan holidays into its calendar: Christmas, Easter, Halloween, etc were all long standing pagan holidays until they were adopted by Christians. Ironically, it failed to adopt the pagan day of peace which is Beltane (generally on May 1). Ironic in that Jesus was said to be Prince of Peace but he is not honored in that day for that purpose.

Thus, what you are doing is a positive step towards helping humanity to set aside its differences and to promote reconciliation. That is very positive!
