Have you ever had somebody feed you lies?

I was afraid of God when I first started university because all the Christians who talked to me about the bible told me that God hates and punishes weak people who are afraid to suffer.

A guy from my school told me God afflicts his followers with tribulation when they follow Him and you would suffer things like cancer, disease, torture, martyrdom, mental illness, broken bones, car crashes and tragic accidents if you decide to follow God.

I later learned there are over 80 verses in the Jewish bible that say God either eliminates or reduces suffering and unhappiness, when you obey His teachings, rather than adding to your suffering and unhappiness if you obey His teachings or seek Him.

Of course but my strategy then is to force a truth. If an advisary lies to me ill play along with the lie and get them into a position they get exactly what they claim they wanted. Then if they spoke the truth thats awesome and if they lied they reveal themselves.

Yup many times, I was in a strict religious cult that fed me similar things to you but I got out of it.
