Why aren't people grateful enough?

God tests some people with wealth and others with poverty. From a religious perspective, it is a sin for the poor to try to live like the rich. What do you think?

I am not trolling you. But here's what you said. it is a sin for the poor to try to live like the rich. How is that? Here is how I can apply it.
1. Commandment number one, having other gods.
2. Commandment 10. covetousness.
3. 1 Timothy 6:9-10: “People who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. At least that's the stuff I remember the preacher saying And made me feel a little guilty..

I agree with unkno, here. These are separate... 1, grateful, poor can't be expected to have gratitude when they suffer.

2, Who said "trying to get rich is a sin"? Not Christianity. Similarly a rich guy doesn't need to "give all but a bit to become poor."

I thinkw everyone’s situation is different. Being grateful comes from within, and it’s not about trying to live like the rich. It's about appreciating what we have and making the most of it...

Not true there are many people who are poor in the Bible and became rich later.

There some wisdom in that statement, because not everyone is able to deal in a mature adult way with wealth and the obligations involved with being rich.
