When your body expires in the hologram, you're put into a queue to reenter when space and another body becomes available. There are forms to fill out while you wait. Get in the wrong line and you end up in another hologram / wrong universe. The beings who run the place get pissed. That's how we got Trumptards. Creatures from another universe who can't follow simple instructions.

Also people who died here, are not rejoining you here, at the funeral so not afterlife. As southpark pointed out when people in afterlife die or get stabbed, "where else can they go"?
