I have posted variants of this idea but what do you think of the bible saying that God rewards secret religious activity and secret work (not public)?

I know 3 people who had secret struggles that could have ruined any normal person's life, and they never discussed it with others for sympathy and attention, they just worked 3 times harder than everyone else to compensate for their difficult situation. All became very successful later on. Two are now multi-millionaires.

Two reasons for keeping secrets is 1# if your urge to share is out of the ego. 2# if it is powerful knowledge it might be misused or misunderstood if shared prematurely.
