There's no evidence God is real. I questioned God right out of my life when I was ten. Telling someone not to question is abusive.

There are no such things as gods. They're not even fully defined concepts but merely collections of traits applied loosely to some nebulous identity and retconned as the ego demands. Religions are invasive memetic parasites that seek to use your thought processes (such as they may be) for their own ends.
You gotta rip it out.
You gotta examine the world without making baseless judgements. Watch it. Listen to it. Trace each thing you see or hear to its source. Do not judge. Just observe and remember what you witness. Do this enough and you should realise that there is no sense in clinging to an idea whose existence you can't even confirm.

As I read religious texts, God is a metaphor for the laws of the universe. You certainly should question them so you better understand them. That works for me but I'm not sure it applies if you think of God as a literal conscious entity of some sort. In that case I suppose you might not question God as he would be the source of all life, all wisdom , all happiness. You'd want to be as close to and in synch with God as you could so you would flourish.
