One time I heard a person say religious people have a hard time believing that people can be born homosexual because religious people believe something has to be a choice for it to be considered a sin.

If somebody is saying a person was born a certain way you are basically saying it’s not a choice. Like people are born with a blue, green or brown eyes for example and it isn’t a choice. Skin tone is also something a person is born with and that’s not a choice either

Biblically God made people how they were suppose to be, people saying they are born in the wrong body isn't something they are born with, they are influenced into it, saying someone is born in the wrong body is saying God is wrong or made a mistake when creating these specific people which is a deception to separate people from God, everyone is born in the right body, they might not be choices made by these specific people but that doesn't mean they aren't living a deception, i can say I was born in the wrong body and I'm a bird, the reality is that I'm not, going along with something that isn't real is known as delusions.

The whole meaning of sin is living against your intentional design, this is why this specific thing counts as a sin, this doesn't mean God doesn't love these people because God does but these people have to fight these deceptions not go along with it, God made them exactly how they were suppose to be and they should accept themselves for what they are, not fall into delusions and go against gods original design, God teaches us to fight the flesh, not accept it, it also tells us not to go by our own understandings because our understandings can easily be misdirected.

A lot of religious people use the idea that The sin is doing the act or indulging in it's thought.
Therefore a choice as you can choose to try reject it and not act upon it.
So yes many religious people believe it needs to be a choice for it to be a sin, and there will be ones who don't who think you are condemned either way.
