Many times. I pray for family members, I prayed over a heart attack victim, I pray for safe travels when someone I know needs it, I have had many prayers answered for healings.
There was actually a study done about prayer and terminally ill people. The study concluded with the group on prayer lists having a significantly higher survival rate than those who were not placed on prayer lists. One surgeon stated that he had a difficult time accepting the results as an atheist, but that in any case if he is ever terminally ill he will get on as many prayer lists as he can.
@AndrésC64 Nope? Ok 🙏
Are you going to answer my question? Do you really think that God answered your prayers about school and money but ignored the prayers of millions of people dying of starvation? People dying of disease? People dying in war? People dying in natural disaster? You really think that God put your prayers for school and money above their prayers?
@AndrésC64 The Bible can answer your questions.
@AndrésC64 Again, the answer is in the Bible.
@AndrésC64 Go to the source yourself. God answers prayers and none of us are worthy of His love, but He freely gives it. Read the Bible yourself. It’s just as easy as reading GaG comments.
You keep dodging because you don't have the answer. If you had the answer you could simply tell me. I'm not going to read through your entire holy book to try and figure out what you're trying to tell me. Just to tell me. Isn't that what you're supposed to do as a Christian, spread the word? So do that, spread the word.
@AndrésC64 God loves you and He will forgive you of your sins. 1. Repent of your sins (turn away from them). 2. Ask for forgiveness. 3. Accept Jesus as your Lord and savior. That’s the word. The good news is that God will say yes.
Don’t be lazy and ask for a person to give you answers. Read the books (that’s plural) of the Bible.
@AndrésC64 He’s God
@AndrésC64 Stop being lazy
You are the one being lazy. You claim to know the answer yet you refused to tell me what it is. But you expect me to read through your entire holy book in hopes that I might find the same answer that you think you have. Tell me again, who's being lazy?
Isn't preaching the word of God what Christians are supposed to do? So do it.
@AndrésC64 I already gave you the good news. Read it again.
@AndrésC64 It’s your choice!
@AndrésC64 You would know if you weren’t so lazy and just read the Bible yourself.
You are the one being lazy and then you lie about it. Again, isn't lying a big No-No for your invisible friend? You supposedly know the answer but you just won't take the time to type it here. That makes you beyond lazy. You expect me to read your whole book in hopes that I will come to the same conclusion as you do.
@AndrésC64 Jesus loves you, even though you mock Him.
Yes! I prayed a lot, and recorded my prayers in a journal. The prayer was for acceptance in my current graduate program and for me to get financial aid. I'd even started the process of reaching out to my local state representatives to apply for their scholarships. After my acceptance (one part of the prayer answered), I reached out to the head of the program to inquire about financial aid and cost. I was worried since I would be quitting my job and only had enough saved for the summer semester. She informed me that tuition would be fully covered and we will also receive a stipend. I was shocked! Not only did God answer my prayer, but he even sprinkled a little extra blessing on it.
@AndrésC64 never said that. I cannot speak to why God allows some things and prevents/stops others. Many of these calamities are man made decisions and actions. God gives us freewill, He will speak to our hearts and direct all of mankind to do good but it is our decision to choose to do one thing or another.
How is disease caused by man? How are natural disasters caused by man? And by the way, if your God is real we don't have free will. He knew exactly what we were going to do before he created this exactly as he wanted to. It is impossible for us to do anything other than what he created us to do. Furthermore, if your God is real even he doesn't have free will. It is impossible for him to do anything other than what he knows he is going to do. If he did something differently, then he would be wrong and therefore not omniscient. He can either know the future or he can change the future. You decide
@AndrésC64 popular dining at starvation war and disease because of human choices God gives you free will. You want people to not starve die in wars or disease stop fucking starting wars stop burning crops stop spreading dieses
If we pray to God with expectation of receiving something in return (i. e. a granted "wish") then we miss the entire point of prayer.
Every bit as often as I made a wish on a four-leaf clover and it came true

Not sure if this counts because I was so young at the time, but in sixth grade I was able to talk my mom into letting me have a kitten. She said as long as I took care of it, fed it every day and cleaned the litter box (which she did), she would let me have one. After having the kitten for only a few weeks, she got sick and my mom had to take her to the vet. We were told if she survived, she was going to need some really expensive medication that we couldn’t afford so we would have to find another home for her. I prayed every night that the kitten would get better and then we got a call from the vet that she was better and the vet found a very wealthy elderly woman who wanted to adopt her. I was so happy that we got her taken care of and found a home for her.
Usually for healing, for those in need, protection, strength to overcome difficult obstacles, guidance, finically miracles stuff like that. And yes God has answered my prayers over the years.
Also praying isn't making a wish it's an act of faith but also communication it's a direct line to God he wants us to talk to him and to establish a relationship with him. That is part of what prayer is it's not just asking for things.
Nope. I pray every day that Trump jokes on a Diet Coke or has a stroke, or gets run over….. and although we came close, it was like the universe screamed “JUST KIDDING, ALMOST HAD YA” when the fu*ker got shot, alas… OrangeTurd is still sucking air, polluting the environment, embarrassing the country, and making life hard for too many people.
I think prayers work best in line with the placebo effect... is it a trick of the mind? Is there something about consciousness that curates our reality to our wishes? I don't know. I'm not sure how some things line up enough for people to believe it was God... but it's hard to tell what I'm not seeing either.
Yeah I have a few years ago during my senior year of high school for a couple of days everyday was feeling the same and I started to get kinda bored so I prayed for something different to happen and I think the day after I said that prayer some people came to my school and gave all the seniors free snacks and drinks and stuff and I was so happy
Maybe once I thought that I had cancer. I remember thinking that I was not going to feel sorry for myself and would just take the treatments and get to the other side. Maybe I hoped that God would take care of me. Then the doc came in and told me that whatever it was going on with me, it was not cancer.
Sometimes i got my wish, minor stuff. Others the answer was "not now". Prayer is not commanding god to give. I agree with theWomb here.
There's a saying, be careful what you wish for, because you might get it! Think about that. It's not a joke. Sometimes it turns out to be not what we really would have wanted had we known a few things.
Many times I've prayed for God to open my eyes and he did, although remember prayer isn't as simple as wishing upon a star
As child one single time. This was the moment I realized it's pointless.
I have had prayers answered before but usually a reply in form of a sign, not a granted wish.
nope. i never got anything i was asking for. but that was long ago, when i was still 16 and not fully developed critical thinking yet. i'm an atheist now.
God is not a Genie he doesn't answer wishes and praying is not about just asking for things it's about becoming best friends with God and developing a relationship with him
@TheWombRaider : There is a lot of variance to being wrong, but just there you managed to be the maximum amount of wrong it is possible to be... where reality is the exact opposite of what you said in every possible way.
As I said... your "god" isn't even properly defined. It doesn't even meet the most rudimentary prerequisites to even be a candidate for existence. It is just a word that refers to nothing whatsoever. Only a complete idiot would claim to believe in such thing since they can't even describe what it is they are claiming to believe in. Only a complete idiot would claim "invisible qualities can easily be seen", since that is a direct self-contradiction. And anyone whose IQ is more than their shoe-size knows full well that there is no evidence whatsover for any of your beliefs, and claiming to see such things is not only insane but pathetic. You have no evidence, no reason, no argument... only hollow belief that reality can be whatever you want it to be. It can't though.
@SotiCoto Wtf are you talking about God is Omnipotent, Omnipotent, and Omnipresent. The evidence for a intelligent creator is all around you. I'm gonna drop some knowledge on you. Our Reality consist of Space , Time , and Matter. All 3 came into existence at the same time. If we made matter but no space or time where and when would we place it. If we had space but no matter when would we place it. If we had matter and space but no time when would we place it. 2nd. Matter can't be destroyed only changes into something else. So where did it come from. SOMETHING OUT OF Nothing. 3rd. Scientifically every explosion in obserable recorded science brings Chaos not Order... We don't set off a bomb and build a house
@TheWombRaider : One of the factors the religious can be further divided by is relevant here... Those who have enough sense to shut up because they know their idiocy isn't going to convince anyone who isn't also an idiot... and those who are especially stupid and keep making the same fallacious arguments, somehow utterly oblivious to just how nonsensical they are.
But really... if you're going to pull the Mona Lisa argument, then disproving that is simpler than ever these days, since I can get a bunch of computer algorithms with no actual intelligence nor ability to comprehend what they're doing to spit out better pictures by the hundreds. So-called AI art generators are accessible proof that simple trial and error with huge data-sets can produce an accurate imitation of deliberate order.
Your problem is that you don't understand what actual intelligence is, nor how it works, so of course you're terrible at identifying where it is or isn't.
No, because I'm not stupid enough to believe in magic sky-monkeys.
Yes, and no to the same question since it can have multiple answers. Still waiting for my prayers to come true
i do not believe in such superstitions, if you have money and the means, any wish can come true, i have never seen god grant any wishes
Prayers aren't wishes however God has answered my Prayers.
Yeah / No / was nothing a big deal, but prefer to keep it to myself.
Yes I have in the past and it was like talking to a brick wall
Dont confuse god with santa claus
the Easter bunny is god too
All the time. For a better life
Lots of times

@blackeagle007 you always say that lol (it’s the same person as the other times you just can’t tell cause I’m anon)
I never say that. Where you get that idea
@blackeagle007 you always say “you seem like a female” when you see an anon female posting something feminine. Except a lot of the time it’s me cause I post anon a lot.
It’s cool. You’re good. At least you’re reading what we’re writing.
I always do. 😁.
