I think churches are completely against secularism. That's why all churches should be closed. What do you think?

Of COURSE they are against secularism! They're SUPPOSED to be against secularism! That's their JOB, for heaven's sake! And by the way, since you say all churches should be closed, just WHO is going to do the closing? You? Who appointed YOU to be the arbiter of what other people should believe? In case you forgot, we have freedom of religion in this country. It can mean freedom FROM religion, and that's okay for those who want that. But it also guarantees that other people, who may NOT believe the same things you do, have an absolute right to practice THEIR religion freely. You don't get to close somebody else's church, my friend! And you are not the "thought police."

I agree with you that... "churches are completely against secularism" therefore secular must have "Tolerance" for different opinions as they claim is important for liberals and more options for "the maximum possible ffreedom" that they say is important... so don't be hypocrits.

Secularism is against human rights anyway since it has no principles to rely on👍🏻

They allow those who want to be part of something irrational to be so with others. Not in itself bad as social connections are good

Nah. Besides it would break our freedoms. Freedom of expression, freedom of speech, and freedom of religion

Wrong. Secular people just don't need a sky Daddy threatening or bribing them to do the right thing.

What keeps secular people on doing "the right thing" when "the right thing" is subjective?

Knowing that we live in a society and as a society we make rules as to what is and isn't acceptable. It's really quite simple to understand that if I don't want people to steal my shit, I shouldn't be okay with people stealing other people's shit. It's very simple to understand that if I don't want punched in the face, that I shouldn't punch other people in the face. No invisible friend required.

Civilized societies do. And it's not just humans that have rules for their society. All social animals have rules of conduct.

What where those rules based on, why did we agree on those as a society?

We agreed as a society because we have to live as a society. Again, humans aren't the only ones that have rules. All social species do.

So you say churches are bad because they are against secularism but at the same time you are religious yourself?
    That doesn't match quite well...

I said: I think ALL temples (Christian, Islamic, Judaism, etc.) should modernize, support and reflect their communities that they are apart of! Otherwise, dismantle them!

If they DON'T modernize, does that mean that they DON'T reflect the communities that they are part of? That's you judging what others should or shouldn't believe!

@Keyboardkat. Maybe, but churches need people, and if they don't 'modernize', then they'll lose potential new members!

Then why are the fundamentalist and evangelical Christian churches, and Orthodox Jewish synagogues, bulging at the seams, while the more recent revisionist sects are scrounging for members? People need something solid, something with real fiber, to stand on, and place their faith in! There's a saying, "People join the Catholic Church to pray to Almighty God, or they join the Unitarian Church to pray "to whom it may concern." The latter point of view seems to be a bit weak and nebulous for a lot of people nowadays. I do NOT in ANY WAY mean this as a slap at Unitarians or anyone else. Everyone has a right to believe what they believe, and have a right to have those views respected.
