Abraham was rich so I think God is okey with you becoming rich but God expects you to use your money for holy purposes. Like taking care of your family or extended family would be a holy purpose for using your money. Using your money to tip waiters and hotel staff when you go on vacation would be a holy use of your money. Using your money to host parties at your home for your kids would be a holy use of your money. Using your money to honour your friends would be a holy use of your money.

God gave us physical bodies with physical needs so there is nothing wrong with spending money to feed your body and to give yourself temporary happiness with it after a long and hard day of work, but the bible says to be balanced and do not spend so much on indulgence that you use of money becomes unrighteousness or makes you corrupt.

I am not religious, so I think people should use their money to build the kind of world they would like to live in.

That can absolutely mean charity.
