I believe when you are secretive, humble, and do not aim to draw praise or esteem to yourself, that God makes your life easier by reducing your burden and work load in life.

And when you engage in attention seeking behaviour designed to fatten your own ego and not to bring glory to God or to guide those who are lost and needing advice in a way that makes their life better, that God adds to your burden and increases your work load in life.

Now some people are positioned in places of attention to minister to others such as righteous political leaders, honourable celebrities, and social teachers put in position for God's kingdom, and these people will not be punished, if they use their attention for God's honour and not their own recognition and esteem by other human beings.

Amal Clooney used her relationship with George Clooney to bring attention to downtrodden victims of legal injustice and to help the poor and voiceless find affirmation and dignity using her celebrity endorsement influences to give them legal aid.

Gandhi used his celebrity status to end the killing in India before he was murdered by an angry psychopath.

So not all honour is selfish or driven by pride and ego.
