What is the main reason for your faith in God?

Have you ever thought about other scriptures that don’t belong to your own religion or questioned your own scripture without any bias? I was born in a religious family, and from childhood, I was eager to follow my religion. But as I grew up, my heart started seeking logic more than anything else, and I began to search for the truth so intensely that at some moments, I even cried, wondering why I came into this world, after facing so many contradictions in my thinking — not only in my own scriptures but in others too. I have read many Abrahamic as well as Dharmic (Asian) scriptures and their essence, and I noticed the same pattern everywhere. Whenever people find something scientific in their scriptures, they proudly say, “See! We are on the right path!” but when they encounter something contradictory, they claim, “It’s just a metaphor or a medium to explain something else.” If that is the case, then why can’t the so-called scientific evidence also be a metaphor explaining something else? This shows how humans protect their scriptures inherited from their ancestors. In psychology, this is called sectarianism. I’ve realized that most people avoid deep thinking not just because they’re lazy but because thinking forces them to face contradictions and destroy the paradise created by their former perceptions. But in my view, truth is like surgery: it hurts but it heals. I’ve decided to continue as I am — seeking truth without masking or pretending to be religious like others who show off their religion and scriptures’ supremacy. Yes, I still believe in God, but only because whenever I’m in trouble, I get the feeling that someone is watching and can help me. Humans have a tendency to search for a supreme, undefined, mighty being that we call God. Still, my conscience always demands logical evidence. So, what is your reason to believe in a religion or in God?
