As G. K. Chesterton wrote, “It is absurd for the Evolutionist to complain that it is unthinkable for an admittedly unthinkable God to make everything out of nothing, and then pretend that it is more thinkable that nothing should turn itself into everything.”
The paradox is that the atheist is as extreme in his way as is the religious fanatic. Because the atheist sees evil in the world, he jumps to the conclusion that there must therefore be no God.
This presents two problems. First, if there is nothing but the impersonal forces of nature and the laws of physics, then there is no free will. Every thought, every action is predetermined by the intermix of molecular and physical reactions. Nothing can be other than what it is.
The problem then becomes that your belief that God does not exist is then also a simple biochemical molecular reaction. You came to the only conclusion that your physiological structure predetermined you would.
However, if that is true, then your conclusion is no more valid than the opposite conclusion. It was simply the luck of the draw of your brain's electro-chemical reactions and you end up in an intellectual hall of mirrors.
In that connection, atheism tends to premised on a rejection of the idea of God in the absence of proof of His benevolence. This leaves the atheist effectively rejecting only one vision of God - namely the Judeo-Christian version. In truth, there are other conceptions of God. (For example, the ancient Greeks believed that the gods were arbitrary and capricious.)
The second point is that if everything in the universe must have a beginning, then logically something must stand outside the universe to start the universe itself. Chesterton's point stands and is a reflection of Aquinas' view of God as the first cause of all things.
The funny part is that the atheist argues that the universe is more complex than religion. Yet their own explanation is, itself, an oversimplification. Order does not spontaneously come from chaos without something outside itself to impose order. Similarly, if all things existing must start, then something must exist outside of it to start it.
Yet the atheist's problem remains. That the order of existence came from chaos absent something to give it order. It just happened - with the caveat that we don't know how - but it happened within existence because existence is all there is.
That is a paradox - for atheism.

I’m not a believer since im agnostic, but I can answer for those I know they believe. I’ll write a resume of their answer.
They believe because they can’t accept there isn’t anything above the things science can’t explain, there has to be an origin of all, an “invisible engine” that explains the born of universe, the fundamental cause of life and existence. Believing in God justify the following of morals and helps in raising kids with a strong moral.
They also find God existence in all the world: the perfection of nature, the love a mother gives to the son, the good work of an artisan… are all manifestations of God’s supreme intellect.
I told them that the world is more imperfect than perfect, there are wars and conflicts, there are illnesses and deformities also in nature.. so where’s God in all this?
They answered that God is everywhere but gave us humans a perfect machine (the world, nature…) at humanity will and disposition. God doesn’t intervene anymore in the functioning of life since he gave the world to humans. This perfect mechanism has been damaged by evil, so that’s the way these things has started to appear. The moment the evil started damaging the perfection of God’s is with Eve original sin.
Because my past experience shown me God's Miracles.

2. I don't believe we are just randomly here for no reason. I don't believe everything is just one big pointless coincidence and that the only reason we're alive is just work all day in office, making some random jerk rich, while we spend the next 60 years just to pay bills then die.
3. Everything in this world has a creator. Nothing just randomly poofs into thin air.. someone had to imagine the wheel, the car, tvs, computers etc. First in order to bring them to existence. It's the same with humanity, earth and all the organism that live here. This doesn't apply to God cause He's always been in existence.
4. Life has a purpose and each person here on earth has been given a person to God. It's matter of finding such purpose God has destined for you.
5. The Bible has prophesied a lot events that would take place on earth that have been fullfilled /happen. There are more that haven't been occurred yet but will in time.
6. It all comes down to faith. Faith is a gift from God and anyone can grow and find faith if they try.

Not just any God because anything can be anyone's God. Jesus Christ the one who died on the cross for our sins. We believe in him because we have felt him through the Holy Spirit. I believed in God way before but recently these past 3 years I have really experienced him even more. There's a peace that comes from talking to him, praying and worshipping him. I also read the whole Bible about that time frame (2-3 years ago) and I learned a lot and now I don't go clubbing like I once did, I don't get drunk. You are basically born again as anyone can be when and if they choose to follow him. It also requires opening your heart to him to experience him working in you. I feel a peace in my life because I have him. He also gives us wisdom and discernment for any situation
I found the value of belief in God and it made me a better person at times… requires constant work and attention to the ❤️.
Religion and belief are dangerous as they can be false and lead a person in wrong and dangerous directions. So be aware of your beliefs and open to challenge and growth but only what speaks to your heart from God… not people. Listen to your heart… and this freedom is required.
As well… you have to face realities of this life and being a human being… we all do…. This leads to face important questions. God is the best answer to that to me as is Christ… i see no better answer. Science to this day…does not work nor does it quench the thirst in the human soul ( that essence that speaks inside us). In my view God makes sense… science is limited.
Good luck on your journey through life.I wouldn’t call myself religious because I was never raised in a religion and I don’t see any reason to join any organized religion now.
I have my issues with the Christian church despite the fact that I agree with them on many issues.
But I do believe a higher power created the universe and everything in it because to me it looks like it was all designed and fine tuned by a Creator.
From the complex structure of a cell to a galaxy it seems to be me there is a grand design.Because things happened to me, which couldn't have been a coincidence, which spared my life when I could have died or been badly injured. Also you can see a maker just by looking at the heavens above. Psalms 19:1 - "The heavens tell of the glory of God; And their expanse declares the work of His hands."
they taught me to do so. I don't really like following through traditions though. I just want to believe to something to feel a bit reassured. But I don't like church nor wearing a cross. Going to the church on Christmas day or Easter when I haven't really gone on other days cause it's big holiday feels like a routine and I wonder why I have to do this. I tried explaining this to my fam but they don't really get it. So I'll just keep going along.
I'm agnostic, but I'm fascinated by Bible literature.
I would LIKE to believe there is God.
I do have issues with how certain Christian religions interpret God and how they practice their faith. Particularly, I question their understanding of the concept of "Heaven" and "Hell," why they believe in "the Trinity" which makes no sense, and why they follow the old tradition of omitting God's name, which is "Jehovah."- Jesus and other prophets were able to preform miracles
- prophecies have come to fruition
- scientists even admit the likelihood and chance of this universe forming with all the scientific data and all the planets 🪐 aligning perfectly, with life on earth, from human beings to animals and the reproductive system and more is incredibly a small chance. Meaning this universe should have been just ashes and dust disintegrated by the massive heat from the Big Bang. You need a creator of intelligence that even humans cannot comprehend the greatness of that gave this universe the life and building blocks.
- from paranormal activity of ghosts and other oddly encounters around the world that baffle people
yes, god is real, god created the heavens and the earth. When the devil said I will lead people astray forever, God said it will only be until the day of judgement. People can choose their own thinking or believe god’s words.
1) Personal Experience, including prophetic dreams among other things.
2) Real Science, including Information Theory and Irreducible Complexity
3) Logical Argumentation: Cosmological, Ontological Arguments and Moral Arguments. Example: If there is no God then why do we all have moral values and duties and why should anyone obey such constructs if there is no consequences of breaking them?
I went to Catholic private school K-12 and while I don't like the church I simply have no other explanation for how we and the universe exist. Evolution makes sense but it does not claim to know or understand where the first cell came from. It could be ignorance but I simply have no other answer than God.
I think to question it is wrong itself. Why I Love God is because of everything in my life he has done for me, good or bad, also the holy places I visited and the effects you have once going there.
Also there is no better friend than God, you can always talk to God, tell God your problems, thank God for your accomplishements, for love you are recieving, for health and protection. There is no better relationship.I don’t believe in God, I believe in that spiritual power. Even if that doesn't exist, it at least gives me hopes for another day. So it isn't doing me any harm but making my depressive state stable.
I've experienced things that science can't explain aaand I got dreams that i couldn't see when i was a child.
Many reasons, but a “Big Bang” couldn’t have created such beautiful animals and landscapes. Everything was perfectly designed in His image and it’s just beautiful
I just do. It’s faith. Plus sometimes I can feel His presence (except I’m not sure God is male I think He’s really all genders at the same time).
I notice too much balance. Balance that seems deliberate. Also, something bad happens to me every single time I do something bad myself. Every single time. I still treat people the same as I did when I was an atheist, so getting mad at me for my beliefs would be pointless. Go ahead and disagree though, it's a complicated topic. Plus, I don't care if GAG users dislike me.
Because I have Faith, I know that He loves me, I’ve seen Him work in my life, and I can feel Him when I pray
For the same reason that most of those who dan't believe don't: what I've seen, heard, and experienced tells me it's logically true.
I don't have to believe in God through circumstantial evidence. I have died before and seen it with my own eyes.
Because it has been proved so many times that he’s always by my side.
