Why should your eternity be determined by 1 life time?

I believe I have looked at Christianity and the concept of Heaven/Hell open mindedly. I tried to approach it without bias or judgment however there are just too many questions with too many answers that just make no sense to me and that I do not understand. Like why would your whole eternity (which is a long, long time) be judged by just a few years of being mortal on Earth? Aren't we supposed to change and evolve? How can we do that if after just 1 lifetime all the rest of our time is decided? Why would a loving, forgiving God condemn someone to eternal damnation for 1 mistake? And if we have eternity couldn't 1 lifetime be considered a mistake? Why wouldn't we have many life times? There is so much I just do not understand.

there are some beliefs that hell is not forever and the damned ones will be erased after they pay for what they done but lets assume it is not the case.

only thing you had to do to not make your eternity a shitty one was refreining from this things that were harmfull in nature.

if this was not easy enough for you sorry but i don't see any reason for you to be forgiven or being loved, why would God love someone who doesn't love themselves or other people they cause harm?

It is a misconception that the commandment says Thou shall not kill. It is interpreted as Thou shall not murder. Murder implies the taking of an innocent life by intent and planning. Killing, in the context of the bible, is justifiable, as in war or self defense.

I had all the same questions as you i was raised Christian. I got older and started learning about Buddhism, Hinduism, taoism, gnostic beliefs, paganism, and so, so many more religions. You realize they all have certain things in common... they are all good ideas and ways of making you understand what someone thought was the "best" way to live. Some relegions do better then another explains the "rules for life". I think religions are just rules someone came up with at a point in time. I am still learning; but I think religions are just "good ideas" organized. Why not make your own good ideas. Religions are for people that can't make good decisions theirselves without incentives. You can, i can tell by the way think.

Quite simply, because it is right and just.

First of all, we have intellect and will. Damnation is not a simple matter of "making a mistake". Sins are not necessarily mistakes, nor are mistakes necessarily sins. A sin is a deliberate and intentional transgression, an offense against the law of God that must be done with full knowledge and consent of the will. A mistake is an error in calculation, timing, action, or judgment. There may be some overlap, but the one does not necessarily mean the other. So you'll forgive me, but the "eternal damnation for one mistake" bit is a mischaracterization.

Then my next question is whether it is truly loving of God to force someone to be with him who doesn't want to be. You ask why we should only get one life to "get it right". How many should we have then? And is it kind or loving to have someone go through life over and over and over and over and over again until they "get it right"? To be born, go through the joys of childhood, the learning of right and wrong, experiencing the sorrows, disappointments, and troubles that they would in order to try to get them to think "Hmmm, maybe I need to become a faithful and orthodox Christian here"? If death is just a stumbling block, an inconvenience, or a reset, if life is basically just Groundhog Day, then conversion and repentance are just the results of coercion and manipulation, which are NOT the fruits of love.

I don't believe in Judeo-Christian-Islamic concept of Heaven/Hell/Purgatory.

I think Buddhism, Hinduism, and even Wicca make more sense.

As a non-religious person, I don't believe in any kind of "gods", but I do believe in reincarnation, from a scientific point of view.

Why? Because human mind is a form of energy, and we all know that energy never disappears, it only changes form.
