Why do churches depict Jesus as white?

The renaissance era created a great deal of christian art, and most depictions of jesus were based on those that came before. The most popular of these being Michelangelo’s depictions of christ, which were often based off of his preferred model and rumored lover Tommaso dei Cavalieri, of whom he painted many images with his face. And since these paintings are now several centuries old, many protestants consider them to be ancient enough to be allowed as an accurate depiction of christ, even if it no longer matches with the truth of the image of a jewish man born in Palestine.

He should look like the Samaritians. They are a hebrew people who split with the jews after the death of King Solomon when Israel was split between Samaria and Judea. The believe everything jews and Christians do up until the babylonian exile and they've always lived in the region and dont marry outside their people.

Various cultures have always...always portrayed Jesus as one of their own. White Europeans recreated White Baby Jesus in their own image. It's what religions do. "God" is also depicted as an old White Man in flowing White robes sitting on a golden throne in a "Kingdom" of heaven. Fairy tales always reflect the culture that creates them.

Meanwhile, the Bible is clear that Jesus is from the line of David and that David himself is "ruddy", meaning he is either a rosy healthy red in complexion from being a tan white guy or is a sun burned white guy or has red hair like an Irish white person. So you know, a "redneck" with light skin that gets tanned/sun burned with that European style red hair. So if David is White, what do you think his genetic line will most likely be?

The term corn at that period of time referred to wheat (not American corn) which is a tan color... You know like a White person that is out in the sun whom lives in a Mediterranean to tropical climate.

The depiction of jesus changes depending on what region you go to. So Christians say in Lebanon or Israel depicted him as middle Eastern. In greece as greek. Africa as African. Japan as Japanese. China as Chinese etc.

Why not? There are no genuine records. And any skin colour (or phenotype) is as good as any other.
"Churches" actually do not promote a specific image - they just use mainstream artistic visualisations, don't they.
