Personally I had read the bible cover to cover many times. And yes, I realised many (mis) use the Bible for personal gains.

If you are also a Star Wars fan, then like the Jedi, many used the Force (religion) to influence (and control) the weak minded.

These are top-level Christians.

And yes, "low-level" rank and file followers also do likewise, particularly members of cults.

To conclude, I do find many profess Christians misuse the Bible. But to add on I also find other religions have "black sheep" spoiling the name of their religion. And instead of fining faults with these, let's choose to live by moral principles, for the sake of greater good.

This is what I don't enjoy doing: to point out right / wrong or good /bad.

Reason is simple: we all fart.

Hence, instead of making the world more toxic, set an example to give a little good.

So why border with anyone having sin? For all has sinned be it dishonesty, glutonny or fornicating. Everyone has only ONE eventually and that is death.

No, I'm not preaching. Rather, I'm just saying, let it go. Why get emotionally disturbed why hypocrisy. May I suggest instead to forgive and seek friendship. This will improve mental health and give us a better conscious.

Most religious people are hypocrites, in my experience.

They like to preach to others, and condemn them for what they perceive to be moral failures, while ignoring their own.

My favorite religious quote for those people is "judge not, lest ye be judged," because it pisses them off to be called out on their crap.

Most non-religious people have realised this long ago. Religious people, particularly Christians and Catholics, are often the biggest hypocrites of them all - they pick and choose which rules to follow from the bible and shame others who don’t follow those rules.

Yeah it is most of the religious Christian and Catholics, while many of the Christians and Catholics like my grandma that do practice that faith but don't go to church that much or at all, shove their religion down people's throats. Many atheists, agnostics, etc. are good people too. I could care less if someone is overweight from eating from addiction but as a non religious Catholic I can't stand how most Southerners for example ignore gluttony, yet won't shut up about everything else and so many of them are overweight from eating from addiction. Once I don't care and don't judge people that are fat, just pointing out the hypocrisy.

Your “ex friend” is simply a genuine douchebag. His sins have nothing to do with his faith. In fact, he’s not practicing his faith at all. If he is, he would not be doing any of those things you are accusing him of. So, leave Christianity or Catholicism or any religion out of this.

You can still be a Christian or Catholic despite sinning but the point is the hypocrisy. We are all sinners but the question is if you that person is a good Christian or Catholic. My ex friend in the middle of an argument out of nowhere pulled my sins when he does the sins I listed. He didn't take the speck out of his own eye.
