Can luxury bring horrible luck in your life?

I Googled a Hollywood couple today and 2 of their 4 children died tragic and unrelated deaths before reaching adulthood. In China, almost 25% of the richest people in the country die by suicide. The richest person I knew in my social circle as a child, died on the day I graduated university.

There is evidence that female children who grow up around luxury have a lower pain tolerance when they become adults. And there is evidence working class children are happier than rich children when they are young. There is also evidence that religious children are happier than non-religious children.

Giving children everything they want isn't parenting. I completely agree with what you've written. Children who don't develop the ability to persevere give up at the first challenge they encounter in life.
