Do you think too much luxury is dangerous?

If you look at the the Nirvana musician that died of suicide at 27, or the Michael Jackson child that attempted suicide when destined to inherit 100,000,000 or the high number of models that develop anorexia and eating disorders, it seems having too much money or attention is just as dangerous as not having enough money or not enough societal respect and inclusion.

The thing about luxury is that it mostly means these entertainers have so much money that they have a whole lot of free time on their hands. Then you mix that with the time honored Hollywood tradition of sex, drugs and rock n roll. Many actors and musicians turn to alcohol and drugs to cope with isolation, the pressures of fame and to self medicate any mental health issues they are unaware they have.


Only when you have young entertainers that grow up in a family with strong morals and raise children that develop them themselves do you end up with the Taylor Swifts and Justin Timberlakes.


Those young entertainers that leave home early because of a bad situation at home are more likely to fall prey to “Empty Hands are the Devil’s Playground.”

It’s like those stories you read of regular people winning the lottery and then losing it all. Money is a burden and it takes discipline to know how to manage it. It can corrupt you if you let it (greed). That discipline also males you more willing to part with it for good causes.

Its not luxury that killed Kurt Cobain.
Its not luxury why models have eating disorders.

Kurt Cobain had a tragic history with drugs. From his early childhood, he was intoxicated, it was normal for him going to school heavily medicated.

And models are anorexic to appeal to the beauty standards, which are nigh impossible to achieve without plastic surgery and/or photoshop. And are even changing every couple of years.

I would say that it all can be blamed by being famous... Money, attention, name and more.

Famous people think they are role models. They should be thin... Can not be fuller... Must have a sertain attitude... Live style..

They can't keep up and crash...

Most definitely.. Or I would say that despite having luxury and money it didn't make them happy or bring them purpose as a lot of people would think.. We praise material possessions so much in the West that we don't realize, it could make things worse..

It depends on the character - but in general: nobody gets rich through charity and those who are rich are most afraid of losing money. It changes people when they have more than their intelligence can handle

I don't think in that case it's about the amount of money. I think it's due to to much attention from the wrong people as well not enough from family. I also would think part of it can be that they are not given a good environment via a lack of structure.

Not dangerous, but you just take everything for granted.
You loose track of what it is like to have to scrimp and save for everything.
You just don't appreciate it.
It just becomes stuff.

It can be damaging to the soul. Though, personally, luxury is all I have... Regardless of my attempts for something better... And I have tried for over 16 years. I spend all my time playing video games... It's just enough.
