How should I read and interpret the book of Revelation today?

With the sense the end is immenent, I have started reading Revelations.

Super inflation of everyday goods

Bad rulers - oligarchy

Begging God to intervene - end suffering

Nuclear war

The elite hide in bunkers

It's an interesting historical document and so if you want to read it as such, it's probably be interesting to do that once or twice. Trying to interpret everyday reality based on that book however is simply a waste of your time and everyone else's.

It is very important seeing the times we are living in. Isn't this a good idea to know the word and scriptures of the Lord? I am assuming you are athiest or agnostic so you wouldn't know the importance as much.

The interpret is fine but the book itself ended "all this will happen soon" so it happened already. High prices etc. Not about now.
