Probably because in any Abrahamic religion the truth is that there is one god in control of everything and everything is his design. That means that god is accountable for everything to them. If you have different beliefs such as there being multiple gods that argument falls away.
To me the argument of why bad things happen is a simple one though, free will. Evil has to exist for good to have meaning, if were not allowed to choose to do the wrong thing then what meaning is there in being good?
Clearly if this is all a design the only way for things to have true meaning is if there is potential for things to go wrong.
And probably something to it in our own personalities to, would you want to watch content where nothing ever happens? A world that is just daily life any nothing goes wrong at all. Everything is always perfect and lands right? Because it sounds like a bliss to life in it, but at that point the bliss would be mundane.

Correction the Abrahamic god and yes everyone blames this one because it does.
You don't see crusades or middle east conflict over the elephant god funnily enough.
And the reason no one blames satanism is cause again the crusades or middle east isn't done by them... they're in fact done in devotion to the Abrahamic god do you see banners of Sigil of Baphomet during any of these conflicts? I don't.

But the truth is there is absolutely zero difference between any religions. Satanists are just like christians. They use ideology to cope with mommy and daddy issues. And then, their ideology is even pretty identical. They view the molesting priests as proof that the christian god is an oppressor, thus, the snake tried to save humans from slavery by encouraging the consumption of tree of knowledge.
In the end this whole clusterfuck is laughable for those in power. As long as you follow any religion, you are happy to defend your daddy issues, and too busy fighting your neighbor to quit being profitable for forces of torment/anxiety/demons/trauma/"sin"/war.
God never said that bad things wouldn't ever happen. But He did say that He will give you the strength to get through it and will walk right by your side when it happens.
