Who did you pick as your confirmation saint and why?

I don't recall needing to pick one. There were just somewhere between 10-20 topics, 1 out of which teenagers are randomly assigned to and made to say in front of the whole church. 5 pages each topic. In a language i hated speaking. I went against all the advice everyone gave me and chose to study 1 topic (which was advised not to) by retyping it again and again into a chromebook. Just one topic. It turned out to be exactly the one i had randomly been assigned on the confirmation day. A good portion of that religious trash i didn't even understand and didn't bother to, but since this whole 3rd language was to me like an alphabet to memorize, i parroted all 5 pages verbatim without skipping a sentence. ㅤ

I picked Saint Francis de Sales, because he's one of the patron saints of writers. I wanted to be a writer when I got confirmed. Someone suggested Saint John the Apostle, about which at 14 years old, I thought "boring!"

For many reasons, I've come to appreciate him a lot more over the years though.
