People tend to believe very strongly, and often try to convince others of their beliefs. It’s kind of a sign of insecurity. If you believe something different and there’s no evidence that you’re wrong, then they have to wonder if they might be wrong. This seems to be an irreconcilable condition. So they will sometimes go to great lengths to convince you that you’re wrong so that they don’t have to question their own beliefs.

Religious believers indoctrinate their children as soon as they are able to talk. That is manipulative.

Atheism is just a lack of belief in a god or gods. They don't send their children to "no god" lessons on Sunday. Mostly we don't talk about religion until our children ask. The we just say "Some people believe... Your mother and I don't. You can decide for yourself."

Atheism isn’t a lack of belief. That’s agnosticism. Atheism is the belief that there is no god. Atheists carry as much pure faith as any religious zealot and they talk about it constantly. Trying to convince believers that they’re wrong. Just like your ignorant comment to me on another post. You can’t prove that there is no god. Yet somehow you think you’re superior because nobody has proven to you that there is a god. That’s called self serving bias, genius.
Religion is a lot like magic. For those who believe, no proof is necessary. For those who don’t believe, no proof is adequate.
Anyone who insists that there is no god, which is atheism by definition, is ignorant. Full stop.

@Chazmatazz269 This is often repeated by Christians and it's incorrect. Atheism is not a claim about the existence of a god or gods. It merely means living without belief due to a lack of evidence. Agnosticism is the belief that the existence of gods is unknown and unknowable. Almost all atheists are agnostic.
