Has your God ever told you to be more selfish about your ideas?

I considered emailing pastors with anonymous bible notes from me because I do not want to undermine their ministry by getting a larger audience then what they can get when they preach the bible to others, but my intuition was telling me not to let other people take credit for my ideas.
