He keeps a certain amount of distance between me and him… he follows back all his other students on instagram but never followed me back (and I unfollowed him).

He flirts with me, gets mad when I like someone else, and expects me to only take guitar advice off him and his mate… he got a bit mad when I post on Facebook asking about guitar/musician related stuff and then he always texts to say stop looking on Facebook, other people don’t know what they’re talking about (true, but there’s some good advice on there too). Also during guitar lessons if I mentioned I had a lesson with someone else or took advice from someone else he’d say “you’ll only confuse yourself if you listen to other people’s advice, they don’t know the angle that we’re coming from” but then he will say something that completely contradicts “there’s no secret to learning guitar, it’s all just hard work and focus” but then he makes it out to be some wishy-washy thing like there’s an inner circle of musicians who know the secrets to playing… I feel like I’m going crazy. Then another guitarist explains something to me in such a simple way (his friend) and I understand it better. Is he trying to confuse me and undermine my confidence so I get more lessons with him?
Really strange because all his other students say how great he is and how he’s really helped them… I just get more confusion. I also said how I want to learn jazz standards etc. and he said that what I’m trying to learn is too complexed at the moment… but I can play it fine with a bit of practise? I dunno just feels like he’s scamming me and giving better teaching to other people… why would this be?

In December 2024, I met a guy on an app and was instantly attracted to him. He expressed that he found me pretty, which made me feel special. Despite the age difference of 1 year and 10 months—me being older—I didn’t think it would lead anywhere serious. However, I was pleasantly surprised when we began talking every single day. He would text me at any moment, even while he was at school or at practice, sharing pictures of what he was doing. Our conversations often stretched late into the night, sometimes until 1:00 AM, and he consistently sent me good morning texts that brightened my day.

His enthusiasm is evident in his texting style; he often double, triple, and even quadruple texts, which shows how much he enjoys communicating with me. However, about six months in, while he was on vacation, his good morning texts stopped, although he still reached out regularly.

Now, nearly a year into our relationship, I’m left wondering why he hasn’t asked me out. It feels like we have a strong bond, akin to a romantic relationship, yet there’s no official label. He has shown signs of jealousy when I mentioned dating someone else, which makes me think he has deeper feelings for me. Despite our closeness, I’m unsure if he sees me as just a close friend or if he’s hesitating to take the next step. Our dynamic is unique, filled with warmth and connection, but I can’t help but wonder what’s holding him back from making a move.

There's this guy I've been talking to on a daily basis for the past few months. Our friend introduced us and since then we've been talking. We're both quite introverted and shy. We text throughout the day and usually game and call in the evening. Our friend told me he isn't the type of person who would take the initiative to ask someone out, and she keeps asking when we'll start dating (jokingly).

I kind of have been noticing small changes recently like we just call and hang out. He suggested watching a movie together. He also said something along the lines of he would like to join me going somewhere. But I'd still consider this friendly behavior?
