I'm not asking if you think workplace relationships are appropriate. I'm only at that location for the summer anyway but this dude never says anything bad about me but I'm the coworker he talks to the least & when we talk he normally just talks about himself. He sometimes stares at me & if I look he'll look away. 1 time someone was asking about me & he said" why are you looking for her? I can do it." It's no secret I'm more liked but I talk to everybody & he only talks to the same 4 girls. We work at a 4 level school & he's only ever on the 1st & 2nd floors while I patrol the rest (we're security.) I've asked before if he has social media (knowing the answer) & he lied & said no even when I see him use them. I was telling him about my favorite YouTuber & I brought up that I can't send any links to him because I don't have his number so he gave it to me & said "I can give it to you for work." He used to say good morning when I would walk in but now he won't say anything unless I say it 1st ( this happened on Monday. Friday was when I got the number & I only sent the links with his permission & Monday was the same day he got offended by someone asking about me.) That day he really treated me like a pariah & he still kind of does but not as bad. He still says "have a wonderful night" & I showed him pictures of my kid (got brought up) & he said "cute" & "baby laughs are the best" He wouldn't mind dating a girl with kids but I don't know if that matters. He was in a bad relationship where he got slapped & I said "if it's any consolation I was in a abusive relationship." He said "no 1 should have to go through that. People don't understand that men can be in abusive relationships too." I don't know why he brought that up but he doesn't get staff emails & I don't either so I brought up that we're both misfits & he agreed. We don't disagree about anything.

I just don’t get how people are able to get lucky and meet someone special. I’m going to be 27 soon and knowing that I’ve never been in a real relationship and even out on a date with a guy that has me swoon is odd. I’ve given up on dating apps, I just want a cute smart guy next door. I’m told I’m cute too but was never the woman to get approached by guys in person hence why I figured apps were a better bet. And dating apps have provided nothing but frustration and made me doubt myself even more, as you can see from another post I don’t have a social life. Anytime I hear people say you just haven’t met the right guy it boils my blood. Men and their conceited ways also irritate me but I can’t help but feel the desire to just want that love that I see portrayed all the time on social media and have a guy wine and dine me you know lol.

On a serious note, I mean I’ve known women that say they met their boyfriends while playing video games or in such a random encounter. I play video games and have done the online aspect of it, I really don’t go looking for love any longer (hence dating apps) but don’t understand how it happens by chance for everyone but me. I don’t get what I need to do, I genuinely
know I’m not the issue here.

Long story short: I just fail to meet a guy that’s cute and has a good personality, along with guys just never cold approaching me period.

You know I just feel like some people, like myself, are destined to be alone. I was always told to let love find you, I am not someone to force something for the sake of not being alone or just settle. I used the dating apps on and off, pretty much discontinued using them. I get a good amount of messages but either things die out or they just ghost. I don’t have any friends but back when I would go out here and there, I never met anyone that appealed to me. I feel like relationships are better off happening organically versus the dating app platform but both approaches have been successful for most. When I did have “friends”, I never met anyone so I felt like I had to resort to dating apps. Most women I know get approached a lot too…. I never do. Is there something I’m doing wrong?

Hi! I am clueless and dumb in the dating scene so please don't skin me alive but still give your honest opinions please! I met this guy on a dating site 2 weeks ago and he seemed really interested in me and asked to meet right away after texting for about 3 days. I was a little hesitant on meeting as I've been on dates previously and had wasted my time getting played, so asked him to meet a week later to see if he was still interested. We texted back and forth for the entire week and met up. The date went really well, good connection, he held my hand and asked for a second date straightaway. I deleted my dating app a week ago and told him so when he asked if I was seeing anyone else.
So, two days after our first date, we met up again, though this time the conversation a bit dry and I was nervous. He told me he had deleted the dating app while we were on our walk then sat us down in a garden where convo didn't flow smoothly resulting in long awkward silent pauses. I tried to bring up convo but they ended dryly. He put his arm around me and after another awkward silence, gave me a little peck on the lips. We left and I walked him back to his car where he gave me another peck again, this time not mentioning a third date at all. After the second date, he didn't text as quickly as he did the first time, so I initiated contact first and thanked him for the date. He replied the next day but since then his replies have been slower than they were before. His texting tone had remained the same though. I'd also noticed he'd been online on the dating app recently too. I think it's fairly obvious he's lost interest but I like to be blindly optimistic at the wrong time, so someone knock some sense into me? Thanks. He's also quite a busy person so maybe that's why? Should I ask for a third date or leave it be :'(

Even if you did or didn’t care to interracially date, would your parents care if you did?

My mom, dad and grandma have dated some of every race. As have I. However, I see no interest in dating someone who’s constantly jokes about stereotypical things and makes racially insensitive comments on the daily. For example, my grandpa loves to flirt with women of all races yet he doesn’t feel the different races should officially mix in terms of dating/marriage. And he only comments negatively on women dating outside of their race yet praises the men getting laid by different races. I’ve had to call him out several times about his double standards and slick comments in order for him to respect my history in dating a rainbow of men. But at the same time, no one in my family has ever been able to stop me from dating who I want. And I just personally refuse to continue showing interest in someone who allows their family to dictate who they date. Of course, I still find many men attractive but i lost interest in dating outside my race a good while back. Its just too much drama with the cultural differences and clearly not who I see myself building a future with in the long run. But i do have moments where i consider making an exception to the rule, only to end up regret that decision. Like I’ve really gotta stick to my stance.
