My roommate and I had an argument about this the other day... he said the former on the poll, I said the latter on the poll.

He said he said the former because 2 people from the same race are more likely to have similar cultural customs, a similar smell due to what they eat, similar temperaments, etc... regardless of sex.

I said the latter because biologically, there is no enormous difference in between people of the same sex, but different races.

They may have different skin colors, different types of hair, more common and less common certain eye colors, different common and less common facial features, etc... but overall, they all have the same type of chromosomes, the same primary sex characteristics, either more testosterone (male) or more estrogen (female), etc.

As for the culture thing, my roommate is not exactly wrong... but if 2 people of the same sex but different race grew up in the same country, in the same household... then there really wouldn't be much of a difference, except for specific personality characteristics. They'd still think more or less the same.

But now a man and a woman... they're WAY different.

In between different races, all that changes is the skin and hair, really... but a man and woman have completely different physical appearances, different primary sex characteristics, different types of hormones, etc.

And even if raised in the same country, in the same household, the man and the woman would still think of the world much differently, as men and women think much differently from each other.

I'm just wondering since I'm not Mexican but I am a Puerto Rican who was born and raised in New York and now lives in Los Angeles. I noticed how there are some animosities between Mexicans (Native-Born), Paisas (usually Mexican-Americans that are 1st generation who dress in cowboy boots and hats and hang out more with Native-Born Mexicans than the local US population), and Chicanos. I've been told by one Chicano that the reason why they hate the Native-Born Mexicans is because how many people in Mexico have inferiority complex over their American Indian racial ancestry and want to be "White European" while denying the other important part of Mexico's culture, the Indigenous people, all while the Chicanos supposedly have always taken pride of having Indigenous or "Aztec" ancestry. I feel like there is way more to their hatred between each other than their racial identities and differing opinions, like I doubt that self-hared of Indigenous ancestry is the only reason.

I'm not sure if that's always the case with Mexicans here in the US and their hatred for each other and if it's because they have completely different worldviews from each other that causes them to dislike each other, despite being ethnically very similar or the same.
