There's a guy I'd like to get to know better. Whenever I send a message first, we often just keep talking and he keeps the conversation going but I'm usually the one that starts talking first. I don't mind it but I'm afraid I'll be bothering him by sending a message.

So I don't know if it’s b/c I use the apps kind of “casually”, as in every other day/every 2 days etc. It’s kind of rare for me to message a guy daily, unless it’s at the point where we’ve met up & are msging on a different platform/texting etc. But I’m pretty big on asking questions for obv reasons; if 2 msgs have gone by and I’ve asked questions while the guy is only talking about himself/just answering me, I’ll stop replying. I’m not quick to unmatch, unless it’s known we’re not a good match after meeting or they say something gross etc. It shows a lack of interest or the guy potentially being self absorbed…am I too hasty? Is it just how a good chunk of guys are on the apps? Or should I blame myself?

My friend who has known him for years told me to add him, and she encouraged me to send the first message.
If a guy replies fast when you text him and gives answers in multiple messages, why wouldn't he initiate sending the first message? Because he's not necessarily a shy or introverted guy
