No one can express emotions better via text, as it is inherently limited and many communication cues are lost. I think users are responding on the basis of which medium makes them feel more comfortable, and certainly younger people have become conditioned to rely on texting. . . but that doesn't make it a better method for communicating emotional matters.

voice is a great medium to carry emotions... to do the same in text, one must be really skilled with words... and it doesn't happen often, if at all :D
