I do and don’t.

I used to constantly get censored in public school for challenging teachers in my childhood or my political speech in adolescence. Any time an authority figure bases itself on a ‘because I said so’ like rationale I have a reflexive response to obstruct and disrespect what I view as arbitrary.

Though I’ve made friends with teachers, even gone to dinner with or kept ties with some, and any authority that earns my respect and demonstrates a reasonable/competent approach tends to come to take a liking to me. I don’t know how common that is.

While authority and the authorities in a general sense can very much be bullshit, I acknowledge the importance of structure, it keeps you grounded and productive.
