Search Results: one chance to prove how much i love her

I've only ever been in one short term relationship. I’m in my twenties. Everyone I know has been in love. And people always tell me to wait until I fall in love. It is supposed to be beautiful and with someone you least expect. Yet, I’ve spoken to a few guys and never felt that way. I feel as if I’ve loved but never been in love.

I dont want to believe I am the problem. Yet, I wonder why it has happened for everyone but me. Maybe I haven’t given guys enough chances to prove themselves? I don’t know if im relationship material. I’m not very affectionate and timid. Plus I did not enjoy sex that much.

So me and this guy have recently been talking again, we talked a year and a bit ago and lets just say we argued a lot and a lot of things happened lol, we had stuff in common and he was career oriented. He recently broke up with his ex when we first started talking and he said he was looking for anything at the time. We talked for 5 months and then we didn't talk for awhile and he blocked me on all social media. Then one time I saw him on another dating site and messaged him basically saying I missed him. Then he messaged me on social media saying he got my messaged. We talked for a bit and last thing he said my questions were stupid..

Then I decided to message him a day ago saying I was going to his city he recently moved to for work. I asked if he wanted to meet. He said sure and what I would want to do.. then I avoided him. He started asking me random questions why I messaged him and whats new with me.. (he was bored at work I think) So I said I can't go to the city, plans fell through. Then we got back to our old conversation. (almost argued again about something else) Then I said if your're the guy you said you are then lets meet and I'll give you another chance and prove to me. He said he isn't going to meet to prove anything. I said I want to meet you.. anyways He told me he knows what he wants to do in life etc and wants to find the girl. he's not someone who wants to hook up. He is finding a girl to fall in love with and wants to get married at a certain age.. He also said he's the guy that goes with the flow. If they end up in bed if nothing then ok. I also mentioned that I tried to give him a chance before and at the time he broke up with his ex. He said people need time. During our convo he said get your butt too ___ and see me. there's more too it but thats the just of it. he works a lot and doesn't come to this city where he is originally from often. (where I am as well) He isn't having much luck on dating sites. I really liked this guy as well.

I personally think it is not acceptable to flirt with others while being in a relationship. I have the following arguments to support my statement:

A. The chance that the person you´re flirting with takes it seriously is relatively high. In fact, they might think they have a chance. If the s/o is faithful whats wrong with that? Well, this is science-based but the other person will try to pursue because they want what they can't get and it´s also proven that flirting only, causes a lot subconsciously.

B. Flirting is dangerous, it could slowly lead to more, without realizing one might replace his/her feelings. Humans aren´t like robots, being programmed and all.

C. I think it´s immature because it really isn´t that difficult to stay with one person.

D. A woman/man who flirts only with his/her s/o will be more desired and might create jealousy amongst others. I know this is a bit against A, but the difference between A and D is A gives a chance/flirts with those who desire him/her while D ignores the flirts and is only focused on their s/o.

E. Sign of strength (especially in this time where the majority is just easy) and perseverance when it comes to keeping values high.

F. The relationship between the couple strengthens immensely because ain´t no other person could interfere with their love.

G. Why risking it? Like what´s the point of flirting with others? There is no rational clarification for it. It has only disadvantages.

H. But I flirt for fun? There are other ways to have fun without risking a relationship.

I. One could be so loyal, but in my opinion, flirting decreases the loyalty a bit because one allows it to happen. One opens the door.

J. No matter how much someone trusts the other, self-esteem and/or trust will get damaged eventually. Especially when it happens often. Sadly it is uncontrollable and it has nothing to do whether someone is confident or not because if you care and love someone enough it will happen eventually. It´s inevitable.
