I miss the 2000s so very much, all the way up until about 2008. After that, everything went to absolute shit so bad, such that now I feel I live in a dystopian nightmare.

These were the days before economic turmoil (before 08 of course), the all-consuming big-tech disruption, and before the woke/PC garbage ruined everything. Not everything had to be politically motivated either.

Life was a bit more simpler back then and more laid back. You had cool tech but knew when to take a break and play outside with adventure and friends. Exploring the backyard, the creeks, riding bikes, making trails in the backyard woods... some examples.

This is before everyone lost their ever fucking minds. There was still decorum and manners. No AI face recognition when you walk into Walmart. No leftist mobs burning down businesses, terrorizing their neighbors, and barging into churches to berate congregants. That shit didn't fly back then, and if kids and teens participated in that, their asses would be beat. Adults were actually more like adults, and boy scouts were actually the BOY Scouts for the boys. Kids were actually able to be kids without trying to indoctrinate them with sexually/developmentally inappropriate shit. Drag queens performances in school would have been an outright national outrage.

You could crack jokes back then that are now offensive to hypersensitive snowflakes.

Most of all, I miss my family being together and when family actually meant something. Now, this whole "boundaries" movement and family members blocking one another even just something ridiculous as a political disagreement... it is all disheartening to say the least.

For this, i want both sides to be brutally honest, so I will, too. I'm an ex alcoholic who had significant emotional issues for years that was caused by me having a bad, negative attitude. That out of the way, I wonder where the disconnect occurrs with men not sharing their emotions with women. Such as what I just did, a hardship of addiction caused by my own bad, irresponsible decisions, fault of nobody except myself, but this is vulnerability to let it go. Maybe one of you guys lost someone you cared about, someone moved away and you miss them, you feel stuck, you want to travel, and you think nobody cares about your happiness, so you suck it up and keep working. Men, is this what you're doing? Are you keeping everything that hurts you inside because you think nobody cares and will see you as weak? Ladies, if a man is doing this, perhaps a man you love is keeping his tears in, should he continue? Would you care if he sat down and told you? Guys, if you're hiding, press "yes". Ladies, if you think men, honest to God, would you see a man as less if he told you about his plight? If you answer yes, then hit "yes", to say men should keep these emotions to themselves
