I have been working at my current company for almost 2 and a half years now. I've recently developed a crush on a colleague, but we've always had a flirty relationship. However, due to our situations, it would be almost impossible to have a relationship together. He's always been lovely to me and the flirting included things like him doing silly things to get my attention, staring at me, prolonged/strong eye contact, going out of his way to help me, seeming jealous about other men, organising the gifts/cards for my 30th birthday etc etc. I've always felt fairly confident that he felt the same way.

HOWEVER, a few weekends ago, we met up on a night out. I had too much to drink and I ended up telling him that I really liked him as more than a friend. I asked him if he liked me back, to which he said "you're a lovely person". I kept asking him, being persistent with it - he kept repeating “you’re a lovely person” and I eventually said "just answer the question", to which he replied "yes, I do but we can't be together etc". I think we had a few quick kisses on the lips, not a proper kiss, but a peck.

The day after, I apologised to him for potentially putting him in an awkward position, to which he said "don't worry about it".

The next week at work, he apparently wasn't aware of what happened. I told him that I had kissed him and he looked shocked, saying "that's not ideal, I wouldn't have kissed you properly". For the rest of the week, he barely spoke to me and was hot and cold in his behaviour towards me.

He has gotten better but he doesn't flirt with me like he used to before all this happened. He has shown being jealous because he overheard me saying I was going on a date. I saw him look in my direction and when I told him to have a nice weekend, he abruptly said “bye”

Was there any truth in him telling me that he likes me? Does he still like me? If so, why is he being weird?

So there’s this guy in my class, who I sit behind of. I got to admit his kind of attractive but that’s it, he’s style is good and he’s eye catching so I be staring at him sometimes at class so I be seeing how he acts, now that seats changed I sit behind him and lately he turns around and we make a small eye contact (there’s no one behind me) and he touches his hair a LOT, especially today. He was fixing, touching his hair every 5 seconds and it really started distracting me to be honest. Then later his friend talked to me because we got class together and he was smiling and giggling at me while I was speaking to his friend and yes we had a small chat all together. I sometimes feel he be staring at me in both classes we got together but I might just be crazy. What do you guys think?

My crush (who used to like me or be at least slightly interested In getting to know me) and I are taking a course this semester. When we were asked to form groups he looked at me a few times but I already joined another. When two girls approached him he started to flirt with one of them very obviously and loudly. He seemed very flattered and surprised by her and said „WTF?“ to his friend when he left the room.

A few days later during the lecture (his group partner wasn’t there) he stared at me for 10 seconds from afar but I didn’t react. Now he seems to focus on her and acts slightly nervous around her but up until last week he didn’t greet her or sit next to her so I thought there was not much going on.

However two days ago this girl chose to sit right in front of me (she was the second person after me to enter the room so there were plenty of empty seats to chose) and my crush sat right next to her and was all cutesy and giggly with her. A few times when he leaned very close into her he glanced over at me but I forced myself not to look at both of them once.

My questions are:

1. Why did she choose to sit in front of me? I highly doubt that that was a coincidence

2. Why does he put her on a pedestal but not me (acting all nervous and competitive with other male students). Could he think more highly of her because she is smarter?

3. Is there still a chance for me or am I too late? They both seem to be dating or at least very close
