20 Years After Iraq War, Some Senators Still Think It Was Worth It

The Senate will mark the 20th anniversary of the U. S. invasion of Iraq this week by voting to repeal the outdated authorization of military force that greenlighted the war, a bipartisan effort to formally conclude a badly misguided conflict America is still paying for today.
Nineteen Senate Republicans voted with Democrats to advance its repeal on Thursday, a largely symbolic move that advocates say is designed to reassert Congress’s authority to declare war. Yet it leaves untouched the broad 2001 authorization for use of military force (AUMF) that every presidential administration since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks has used to wage war across the globe.

But there are still some Republican senators who argue that good things came out of the war and that the whole enterprise was ultimately worth it. That view is not shared by more recent GOP arrivals in Congress, however, reflecting a changed party under former President Donald Trump that is increasingly questioning U. S. involvement abroad, including in Ukraine.

CIA’s final report: No WMD found in Iraq

In his final word, the CIA’s top weapons inspector in Iraq said Monday that the hunt for weapons of mass destruction has “gone as far as feasible” and has found nothing, closing an investigation into the purported programs of Saddam Hussein that were used to justify the 2003 invasion.

What I mean is Canada’s legalized it. Mexico’s legalized it, several states in the US have legalized it, but very few places elsewhere have legalized it outside North America.

Why is that? Why is it mainly just a North American thing?

Anyway I’ve heard that medically marijuana has really helped some people in great pain it’s just I really feel as though there needs to be far more oversight of the industry.

It’s far too easy to get a medical card. All you need is a state ID to apply for a card and you can just BS your way through and say you’ve tried all sorts of therapies and medications to treat depression and anxiety and they will take you at your word and you don’t have to prove a thing.

I mean my friend from Texas even outright told me he lied his way through and got the med card just so he could have cheaper and stronger quality marijuana available.

But I highly doubt he’s the only one who has done that.

Anyway, the medical stuff can be really strong to a point that’s just unsafe.

While there haven’t been any recorded deaths from marijuana, as I found out the hard way, that doesn’t mean you can’t overdose on it and experience high levels of pain for hours on end.

Hell I went to the ER and they even told me that medically there is no way for them to flush out marijuana from a person’s system if they take too much.

You just have to let time pass and experience the pain for however long that could be. Potentially over 24 hours as was my case.

But I find it ironic how when you go to buy tobacco products from the store there’s a million warning labels about all the health complications that might result from use but absolutely nothing of the sort exists with weed.

I mean as I described in my whole op-ed here, it’s possible to overdose on weed. Yet they don’t even have warning labels about it on their product.

And not just that but apparently the stuff they sell in stores nowadays is about 3x stronger than the stuff hippies were consuming in the 70s and 80s.

You know our President is originally from Scranton...

They've got a big contract that will pay for years to re-supply 155mm howitzer shells. That means a growing economy! They currently "only" produce 11,000 shells a month and Ukraine is burning through 5000 shells a day (150,000 month), so they could expand the contracts. It's a small world after all isn't it? Good for them, they could use the jobs and they are providing essential materials using their expertise and resources... refining metal!

There's a lot you can do in PA nearby. You could drive to King of Prussia and get an excellent Sunday brunch and visit Cartier Jewlers and get your lady something shiny, visit Gettysburg memorial and learn about the USA Civil War 1 or go skiing in Poconos.

How about visiting PA this year, you'll be surprised!

Note... the explosives are not loaded into the Howitzer shells in PA, that's done out west... so no worries about explosions.
