I’m a black girl and lately, I‘ve been asking myself „why did god create black people or why do we even exist?“ This post is not a hate speech, I‘m just sharing my thoughts and hoping for a little discussion about this.
I mean like, white people in general no matter if European, Mediterranean, Hispabic, Asian, Indigenous, they achieved great things from an impressive culture to great innovations.
However, black people haven’t contributed anything to society (in my opinion), we were first people living in nature and after the introduction of colonialism, we became slaves but also even before that. So what is our purpose?
We still don’t contribute anything to society nowadays, I‘m really asking myself why do we even exist when we have nothing to offer? Western people are scientists, politicians, geniuses, authors, etc. and all of them very successful. Asians are naturally smart, innovative and hard working, making them also very successful. The same for any other ethnicity, culture or nationality but not for black people in general, regarding our nationality or culture. We always struggle somehow and often try to „survive“ in society because of all the bad things happening around (racism, murders, discrimination, …) instead of enjoying our lifes, making philosophical questions about the future, etc.
Why do we then even exist? Why did god make us, if we are such a burden to the world? I really don’t get it.
Slavery was part of Sub-Saharan African culture. It's not something that was done to you. It was part of your ancestors established culture that they created all on their own. When someone committed a crime in their tribe they became chattel slaves until they repaid their debt for their crime. The more severe the crime, the longer the sentence. It was just like jail sentences in the modern day, but you had to work off your time. When different tribes went to war with each other, those that lost the war were enslaved by the opposing tribe. Being that they had committed serious crimes like murder during the war they were indentured for very long periods of time if not life. Eventually the Muslims moved into Africa and started trading with the Black Sub-Saharan African civilizations like Mali, Sokoto, Songhai, etc. who already traded slaves among each other. The Blacks saw a chance to sell off their more serious criminals like murders to the Muslims who would ship them away to foreign lands were they could no longer do crimes to other Black people. Blacks that had been enslaved by Blacks would often try to run away if their sentence was very long and their crimes very serious. So by shipping them away with the Muslims they would not be able to find their way home and the Blacks could reap financial gain. That’s something Black people did to Black people. The Muslims then invaded Iberian Peninsula bringing information to Europe about the African slave trade as they the Muslims influenced Spain and Portugal both of whom later developed quality ships started to trade in slaves with the Blacks. Black slavery was a Black owned business. It’s not something White people thought up. White people had their own system called serfdom/feudalism which was also a form of debt bondage. Serfs could not be bought, sold, or traded individually though they could, depending on the area, be sold together with land. Everyone culture had some sort of system where slavery existed. Blacks just innovated selling their own off in single serving packages to foreigners.
White royals fought over land. The people belonged to the land and came with it. We didn't vial up other people like crack rocks and sell them on the street corner. That's a Black thing.
It's likely that all humans were black in the beginning - it seems likely that humans all originated from Africa. But here's why black people have struggled to develop society: black people are from sub-Saharan Africa, and even though it's full of game and plants, it's actually an extremely hostile place to live overall, and for such a huge place (the African continent is HUGE), it has terrible geography that makes it difficult to navigate and to have agriculture, and while we've developed technology in the last 100 or so years to work around that, this didn't exist thousands of years ago.

Europeans had to leave Africa and move to Europe hundreds of thousands of years ago, so that they could be in a place with natural trade routes and most importantly river systems that could be used to carry goods from the interior to trade cities (and vice versa). Africa lacks rivers, and the ones it has have big waterfalls (because of all the mountain ranges) that make navigation impossible, so transporting trade goods - especially anything large, heavy, or bulky, was difficult, dangerous, and expensive. Most goods had to be moved by pack animal until 100 years ago, while Europe was moving goods by ship for thousands of years on the rivers.
The challenges of life in sub-Saharan Africa kept people living day-to-day, and the lack of agriculture meant that they usually had to migrate around with the seasons, which prevented people from having the stability necessary to specialize in particular jobs and develop more advanced knowledge and culture. North Africa, being on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, had all of those things, which is one of the reasons why Egypt was so advanced, and also Ethiopia, which also had access via the Nile. But that huge desert cut off those northern countries from the central and southern parts of the continent.
If Africa had had a geography more similar to Europe, with far more navigable rivers, you'd likely have seen advanced civilizations like Egypt in sub-Saharan Africa, but the geography, weather, and the general danger of daily life there really put most of Africa at a big disadvantage - one that wasn't the fault of the people living there. But, the reality is that sub-Saharan Africans didn't develop advanced civilizations, and so they lack the culture of such civilizations, and so they often struggle and resist following the rules of those civilizations, because it's not as much a part of their culture.
Hopefully, having access to the Internet, and vast stores of knowledge, will help level the playing field over time, but it isn't going to be a fast process, and there's plenty of bad crap on the Internet that's not helping anyone, so that has to be managed too.
@RonStone45 Not a bit. Certainly, it's pretty simplified - these are complex issues with lots of history and nuance, but it's the truth. There have long been pockets of advanced civilization in Africa, but only where they've had stability and the ability to trade, which isn't the case with most of sub-Saharan Africa.
Are you serious? You're black and you think that black people have nothing to offer to society? To the world?
I suppose you know why slavery started, the same goes for colonialism. Do you know that there were African civilizations before the arrival of the Europeans? Do you know that the history of the African continent DID NOT started when the Europeans arrived? Do you know why some European countries are still selling weapons to African nations?
Do you know that black people also created amazing inventions like the calculator?
Don't get me wrong but you need to learn more about black history, and mean not just the history of black people in the United States, but black people from all over the world.
I know it's easy to feel down when everything around us is negative. When you grow up listening that being black is bad, that black people are this or that. When you hear on the news that someone was shoot just because they were black. I know, I know that.
But we, black people are NOT A BURDEN TO THE WORLD. That's what white supremacists want us and non-black people to believe in. That's NOT TRUE AT ALL.
We, just like any ethnic/racial group have something to give to the world. In fact, many things that we created were/are stolen or destroyed by other groups.
So please, let these negative and hateful thoughts behind and be proud of you are. Remember that you're part of a group that has been persecuted and hated for centuries, but we're still here thriving and improving.
Another thing, you'll get a lot of answers from trolls and racists. Don't let them get what they want.
Black people are NOT a burden to the world! Black women contributed a lot.
Activists pushing agendas and race bs are the burden. I will never forget what Morgan Freeman said. He said we end racism by stopping to talk about it.
Also, Denzel Washington has a good speech about black role models and absent fathers.

You should read the book "Hidden Figures"... not the movie... the book. There were many super smart scientific "black" women and they were instrumental in launching the missions to the moon given their exceptional math skills. It wasn't jus one, but a bunch of them... in my view, the schools may have been better than and so they developed people better than today. Even in the face of being treated unfairly, those women fought to get educated and have their families and do the best for their kids.
Various "black" people have been inventors, veterans, business people, doctors, brain surgeons, pilots, etc.. Maybe you just aren't seeing the role models?
Africa... is really hot. I suspect that is a reason, they got stuck in "survival" rather than sitting around with time on their hands to figure things out. Europeans, Greeks, Chinese, Romans, etc.. figured out a lot of math, chemistry and such.
Purpose is a troublesome question... and I think more of an individual one, not a color. The problem is so many are trapped in cultures that do not foster them to be their "most". Chinese/Indian culture (many of them) push their kids to succeed. In western society, we are destroying a lot of empathetic people with spiritual gifts that never develop, and many kids get lost in schools. That is something African/A can do, if they aren't consumed in the mess of society, tap into the spiritual aspect of society, healing, creativity, communication, motivation, promotion, etc..
Could say the same about South American/Mexico, it's hot, survival, opportunity is limited.
I think you have to seek your individual calling in life and make the most of your unique gifts and abilities.
I never imagined I'd go through the life I did, got through the college I did, and learned the emotional things I learned. Set your sights much higher.

It's the exposure to sunlight that's made the difference in the skin tone or hair. You're black and I'm white... I'd probably catch skin cancer and burn alive in the same amount of sunlight you could deal with.
As far as the behavior goes... I always break it down like this. Imagine living in a place where you can actually just get what you need around you. The only threat to having what you need on hand... is the other people.
Consider all the people that just left. Why did they leave? What would be required of people that just have to find a new way to survive and figure a bunch of things out just to not freeze or starve to death. They had to work together on a whole different level... although they eventually have to go to war against other humans as well. I think over time, genetic wise, it's created some basic preferences in behavior that are more likely to be displayed.
Think about it like breeds of dogs. People make it hard for themselves to see a difference in peoples, but they have no issue recognizing one breed of dog might behave a little differently than some golden retriever. Like yes... there are very loveable pitbulls out there... but if they're not raised right, they'll rip your face off.
That's just my take on all the race stuff. I've been married in an interracial relationship for 14 years now and I don't feel like I'm just speaking out of my ass.
God is a difficult angle. As a non-believer I am happy to attempt it though.
God is, supposedly, both omniscient and omnipotent. While this is of course a silly notion it is still supposedly true.
With that in mind, doubting your value is also doubting God. God would have known what you, your ethnicity, circumstances and alike would be. God, as a perfect being, is also unlikely to be impressed by science or other similar achievements but instead value how we each measure up to our challenges and difficulties. Like how I am horribly failing being a believer but to me that is perhaps all the challenge I can handle in life.
Meanwhile, by your view, black people as a group dace amongst the greatest hardships. As such, since God only gives us challenges we can handle this actually makes black people one of God's favourites. And each setback or perceived difficulty is not a failure but proof of God's belief in you.
So while I think this, and your own self-demeaning view, is all horribly wrong I am still well read on the bible. Everything here is absolutely true and logical statements if you do believe. So really, your doubt? That's God believing in you when you do not.

My dear sista, I’m a proud black man myself. Is black people were created in the same reason all races and humans exist to be on earth. We are beautiful and rare as we are unique.
I must remind you that all humans have an inherent value and worth, regardless of their ethnicity or background. It is not productive or accurate to make sweeping generalizations or judgments about entire groups of people based on race or nationality.
It is important to understand that black people have contributed to society in many ways throughout history, despite facing systemic obstacles and discrimination. From art and music to science and politics, black people have made significant contributions to human civilization.
Furthermore, it is important to recognize that every individual has their own unique strengths and talents, regardless of their race or ethnicity. It is not fair or accurate to judge someone based on group stereotypes or to assume that a particular group has nothing to offer to society.
Ultimately, it is important to celebrate diversity and to recognize the inherent value and worth of every individual, regardless of their background or culture. We must work together to create a more equitable and just society for all.

There are many examples of Black people who have made significant contributions to society across a wide range of fields. Here are just a few:
1. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: A civil rights activist and leader who fought for racial equality and social justice through nonviolent means.
2. Mae Jemison: The first Black woman astronaut who served on the Space Shuttle Endeavour in 1992.
3. Katherine Johnson: A mathematician and space scientist who played a key role in the early space program at NASA.
4. Maya Angelou: A writer, poet, and civil rights activist who wrote extensively about race, gender, and identity.
5. Barack Obama: The first Black President of the United States who worked to promote equality and social justice during his time in office.

I am somewhat downhearted to hear your dismay at life. I was reading a National Geographic edition on what makes us human and one of the things written was that we were thought to have come out of Africa, Once Africans began to spread they bred with other human like species like neanderthals, oxidentals, florentines The reason why that is important is that most of us folks of lighter pigmentation have somewhere between 16 to 20 percent African DNA. The rest of the story is Genetic theory. We assume that if a species has 26 Chromosomes they are human or at least if mated with a human they will produce offspring. Further, we assume that we would all have an fairly enough equal quantity of Stem Cells dedicated to forming our embryonic skin which is where our brain and spinal cord originate from. Why is this important Blacks have a significantly lower amount of body hair. So that left a significant number of stem cells that ended up in the brain. Most lower animal brains do not have the convolutions of a human brain. So the idea of " just a thorn in humanities side" is inaccurate. Most of the species that Africans bred with had only achieved a stone age existence. Neanderthals had ruled the earth for millions of years just surviving. Not much advancement. Modern humans have many achievements, so many that we have almost exterminated ourselves. We are all just pieces of an ever changing puzzle. So, anonymous, don't concern yourself with things about which we can only speculate. Life is short. Find some happiness and sink you teeth deeply into it. You are necessary

God created man (humanity) all of us in his imagine and we all have limitless capacity for protentional but more importantly God gave humanity the gift of free will.
At the end of the day it's up to you to decide what you want to do or how you want to contribute or not contribute. Your not held back or pushed forward by your cultural or race.
And the better question to ask is what makes me any better then you? Sure there are things I can probably do that you can't but there are also things you can probably do that I can't. And we both have the capacity to learn and acquire new skills that the other may not want to pursue or can't.
And blacks have contributed to the world, you know the refrigerator systems that are used in semi's, box trucks and ships that are used to transport meat, fruit and vegetables all around the world, a black man invented that. That's arguably one of the most valuable inventions to be made because it allowed the ability to trade and sell these things all around the world and easily transport food across countries.
because we have something to offer is why we exist. We have done great things, it is just that with us a lot of us are wanting the easier path and we do not stick together. I have talked to a lot of young black men in my area and all they want to to is sit around and make money, but they want it to come easy. They do not want to try. Black women just want to have someone take care of them when convenient. I told a sister the other day that the military was looking for officers. She made excuses about different things instead of going to at least try. We together as a race make too many excuses. We as a race of people have to realize that there is no easy way out and that we will have to work to get the things we want in life. A lot of us had our own businesses back in the 50s and 60s. I am not sure why we have not gotten back to that point. Some say it was because of drugs and loss of purpose. True, the system is making it harder, but that should motivate us to do better. By the way, the Air Force is looking for pilots; so if you have a degree go for it. Lets see can you yourself change the narrative.

I could make a wisecrack remark but I know you are serious. God made us all equal. Asians are not born smarter than everyone else. They developed a culture that emphasizes academic excellence. White people developed a society that celebrated a wide variety of skills, probably because of the environment they lived in. the same with black people. They needed the extra melanin in their skin because of the strong sun where they lived. Plenty of black people contribute to society. You have the ability to excel in what you are passionate about.
I teach computer science in an urban college. A lot of my students are black and some of them are disadvantaged economically. Still the passion is there and they can excel just like anyone else.
I don't know if you noticed that but every race has a nose shape depended on climate.
Africans have wide noses because they have super sunny and hot days, which means that their climate is on the hot side while Russians and any race which lives in cold climates have small, upturned or straight noses so that the cold air was filtered better. And this has to do with any other nose shape which exists...
Now what about your question... Every race happened due to evolution, climate and manu other aspects. In my opinion it's super cool that people are so diverse and beautiful in their own unique way.💞💝💘

Look, every person has a purpose in life you know... Black people are good followers in my opinion... Of course there can be good leaders among them like Martin Luther king for example... He was a good leader who unfortunately wad assassinated... Anyway what I am trying to say every race has value
Black people have the most or equally the most contributions. You just don't know that because history has been so bent and distorted. As far as today culture is what makes the difference. If you're surround by people who act a certain way, you will act that way and reap the results of being that way. A white baby can grow up in china speaking Chinese. But with all that said I don't think you're black. I think you're some white guy who wants pull Black people down.

Are we just going to forget that a black person had made it to the highest position of government in the United States?
Are we just gonna ignore that little tidbit in Anthropology class where literally every single nation of the world is descended from Northern Africa?
Did you miss your black history. Post slavery, African Americans, and black American's born here, have contributed significantly to our society, think Tuskegee Airman, Willie Mays, George Carver, Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Maxine waters, Burack Obamba, Kamala Harris, Black coaches, players, Black CEOS, judges, entrepreneurs, scientists, inventors. Black Statemen, members of congress.. You must have been blinded buy BLM the organization the robbed Black American's of Millions of Millions of dollars and built mansions and squandered the money, and gave nothing back, or the SMALL fraction of the black society that deal drugs, have baby mommas and end up in prison, But focus on the amount of Black physicians, lawyers and engineers graduating and taking responsibility in family and society... Chin UP and smile.
Asaina aren't inherently smart, the reason they're assumed to be gifted is because math is the same in every language. So even if they're deficient in English, they aren't in math which gives the appearance of intelligence due to a difference in proficiency. If you actually studied world history you'd know that one of the first major empires on Western Civilization was Egypt, which is African. As we learn more about Africa away from the Nile we see other powerful empires in their own right that were somewhat successful due to not having nearby powerful enemies (as Egypt would have been). The fact is, Africa has a fascinating past that hasn't been stied as much as European past. Then there's a whole story regarding the past of India and Pakistan. So it's not that Afrucans and blacks haven't contributed anything, it's that history hasn't looked at in in the same detail.
But better question is... why did god make people in general? :1 Maybe because god felt like there can always be a new soul. therefore, we got black, chinese, mandrin, french, scottish, indian, pakistan, etc. Either way... Very certain god just made us. Regardless of what race we are :)
Ouch, this is a painful question, but I have a humble answer for you. It is perhaps that, when all our modern machinations fail, Africa will still remember how to be one with this Earth and teach the lost who return. I cannot deny the plight of Africa, so overlooked, messed with, exploited. And misunderstood. Can I ask, are you black, Dutch? So I know who is asking

A fictional supernatural personified entity didn't make you black. Nature did. And the thing is, for the most part the Homo species all started off dark skinned and grew lighter over generations the further they moved north. So every person on Earth can trace their ancestry back to Africa.

TYhe real losers are white people and their racism, not black people who at least in the US have made monumental contributions to culture via music, art, sports, motion pictures, science, and literature. Far more than whites or Asian people have.

Growing up I was taught they bear the mark of Caine for their ancestors siding with lucifer in his rebellion in heaven against God. We were also taught that 2000 years ago Jesus took Jews over to the Americas and built a civilisation until the wicked natives wiped them out. Also taught that when we die we will be given a planet with our partners to rule and we will populate it with out spirit children through eons of celestial sex.
