Employee appreciation day. I wrote the following to my boss. I thought it was good and spot on.
I wanted to take a few moments to write and say thank you for all that you do for us. Not just for Employee Appreciation Day, but on a daily basis.
I probably don't day it often as I should, but I think you are doing a great job! Keep doing what you are doing!
I will also share that I am proud to work on a high performing team. I think that we have a lot of potential in the way we function to do great things and I think that we work well together as a team.
I don't believe we would be there if it were not for the strong support and care we receive from leadership. The ability to lead a team effectively, listen with empathy and provide sound guidance. When all these things come into play, we stand out from the rest and gives us a competitive edge. An operational excellence if you will. These elements are crucial to our success as a team.
---The response was---
'Wow. Thank you. I appreciate you expressing your sentiments in such an articulate way. 😃 '
Soon as I read the response, even from my computer at home I started getting embarrassed as if I should have sent it. I feel a little worried too all at the same time. Not sure why I don't know if it was well received but maybe it was. Any thoughts?

Your welcomed is perfect.
I did reply with a you're welcome! But I felt like she was kind of taken a back.. by saying. Wow. maybe it's the inflection I interpreted. I guess I'll find out Wednesday when I see her again.
I have been getting closer to her professional over the past year... there's a lot more history here other than this email. So I'm either overthinking or this woman may be developing feelings towards me. She does always seem flushed and barely speaks two words to me when she sees me. It's only after u open a conversation she seems to chat away.
