For my 21st birthday I want to get an additional tattoo. It will be my first quote so I've chosen a quote from Edward "Whitebeard" Newgate aka Pops aka what I want to represent as a father:

"If you still have it in your heart to fight, take my name upon your back and rage across the seas to your heart's content. Become a son of mine!"

In addition to the quote I also want Japanese characters down my spine, under it to pull it all together. I chose this particular quote because it's what Whitebeard says to his adoptive son Ace after beating him in a fight, and it's an open invitation to his crew. Even after joining the crew Ace tries to kill Whitebeard multiple times, with no success, and Whitebeard treats it as nothing because, as he put it, he became his son.
I really want the characters to show my goal, which is to create a family that chooses to stand beside me not out of fear but out of respect and love. One thing I always hated about my family was/is I feel bound to them just because we're related. I hate the fact that despite the fact they all feel worthless, abusive, and destructive at times that I feel indoctrinated into being loyal.
