The Bible says in allegorical form that a True Christian avoids two types of sins
1 - They do not try to control how others think or view the world and they do not try to police others unless they are law enforcement or judges or legal workers or prison personnel
2 - Real Christians do not deprive some and not others by failing to grant them the same kindness and disclosure and friendship that God's people are entitled to and those who are outside God's kingdom too
1 - Not Acting Like the Thought Police
John Fowles who I believe was an atheist had one quote which I think is very useful for defining who correctly follows God - he Said - "There is only one true definition of God - the freedom that allows other freedoms to exist." While God is far more than allowance and freedom - his idea that true religiously guided people allow others their freedom resonates with me
The Jews also had a Talmudic Quote which in the last few years has been removed from google search hits and it is this "The Real Mother Does not want to see her children divided." Meaning a real God worshiper and God follower who obeys God's law and His God Given Ethics - does not hate Jews if he is Muslim - does not hate Muslims if he is Christian - Does not hate Christians if he is Jewish - does not try to convert happy and loving Hindus simply because they are not Christian - does not make fun of Buddhists - does not condone hatred in any politician in support of a religious ideology or agenda
Mahatma Gandhi said that Hindus and Muslims were the left and right eye of India when war broke out between Muslims and Jews after the British were disallowed their authority to control Indian and treat Indians as subordinates - meaning - we promote an idea of co existence and co tolerance - in Canada we are taught in political classes that Canada is a mixed salad meaning our diversity adds flavour and we do not impose forced or desired cultural muting or erosion out of some selfish desire for uniformity and similitude in our neighbours
2 - Being Beneficial in Conduct and not merely Dutiful
St. Francis Assisi said - Preach the Gospel. If necessary use words. - This makes sense - if you are living a good life - people will sense your warmth and kindness and they will naturally love you and your spirit and eventually your God - you don't have to write complex theological ideas or be versed in church history or doctrine or ritual - a hug and smile and uplifting word is all you need
Jesus said if you are the light of the world you will give light to ALL who are in the house - meaning your kindness and love and sweet sympathy and affection and healing properties will be given to everyone you encounter as a natural outflow of your inner nature and not some supplanted ideology you plant and manufacture to accommodate a social situation you are in - what this means is - you will be good to EVERYBODY in your Church and you will be God's sweet justice to everybody in your family both born family and married family
The Orthodox Jewish Rebbe Said "To be Kind is more important than to be right." And Jesus said "are not two sparrows sold for a cent?" Meaning - when you give a token of kindness - you attract not only the justice of being right but also the kindness of being good - and Jesus said unless your righteousness exceeds that of the pharisees and sadducees you cannot be saved - and Paul said to add to your faith and don't stop purely at the level of faith - meaning - you must benefit and do good and give and generously share and help and bless and glorify - instead of merely giving the meagre portions you believe are due to others
3 - IN CONCLUSION
A REAL Christian / a REAL God Believer / A Real Prophet - Avoids acting like the thought police - Also Avoids depriving others of the good benefits that they are naturally entitled to as children of God and avoids depriving God of their loyalty or their family of his sweet justice
