According to this article ( https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/533280-republican-senators-now-regret-not-doing-more-to-contain-trump), some Republicans are now, in the waning days of the Trump administration following the insurrection at the Capitol a couple days ago, acknowledging that they should have done more to try to keep him under control.

Many of us that saw him for what he is from the very beginning and realized how much of a risk he is have been wanting them to stand up to him for the past four years in order to protect the country from the damage we knew he would do and try to prevent something like what happened Wednesday, but with very few exceptions like Mitt Romney, almost all Republicans in the House and Senate have been either keeping quiet or actively supporting Trump for the past 4 years.

If it was obvious to many average citizens like me, certainly they had to know what was going on and they had a golden opportunity to limit the damage he was doing a year or so ago during the impeachment trial, but only one - Romney - voted to convict him despite convincing evidence of wrongdoing by Trump.

What do you think of the Republicans now, when it's too late, saying they should have done more?

I feel that life is moving way too fast, and that before I know it, I'll be dead. But there are so many things I still want to do in life, and I'm not sure I'll accomplish all of them. I also feel sadness that with every passing year, I'll never be able to return to that age; when I was 30, 27, 25, 22, etc. I also become nostalgic about my past years and long for the older days in my early 20s, wishing and regretting that I did some things differently, like joining the military earlier, or not messing up during my first years in college, or started studying languages earlier, or not having missed out on opportunities with girls. I've been feeling this way since my mid 20s, and it becomes more and more intense as the years go by.

On the plus side, when I shave, people think I'm 20 or 21 due to my youthful appearance. So there's that.
