There used to be studies on this, and it found that most women prefer short hair on men, but that study has since been censored.

I see a growing trend of men growing out their hair, and I don't get why. It makes them look weak, and there's more going on there than just visuals. You're not going to wear an army helmet with long hair, you're not going to aim down sights with long hair in the way, and you're sure as hell not going to fight off the creep who touched that girl inappropriately at the bar when he can grab you hair and strangle you with it.

This is made worse when seeing the long-haired guys. They're extremely skinny, often very emotional and hot-headed, and very fragile. Some say it's hot as it's deviant, but that to me is like refusing to do exercises at boot camp and giving credit to the guy who refuses to perform his duty cause that's deviant behavior as well.

Women want a man who's level-headed, strong, protective, and kind. Men with long hair have none of those qualities and don't even look the part. A good question for them is, "Are you a girl? Cause if you're not, why are you trying to look like them?

The question is inspired by recognition of "Black History Month", and specifically the meaning of that relates to "African Americans".

Would you [anyone] find it of value to to trace your heritage back to countries and regions? Is that a tool that provides a greater sense of self and identity? I've done that to some extent. The issue I perceive is the lost connection to the past for so many African americans and maybe that is true of other peoples as well. Thus a corrective measure, and possibly one that could be provided... free of charge..., to those whom no fault of their own, had their identities damaged or lost over history. That is one aspect of "reparations", restoration of identity, now possible, by technology.

As I think about how people identify their nationality, very often it's to some large social "national" or "regional" grouping, which forms unique cultural behaviors... usually in accent, language, food preferences, attire, movement/dance, etc.. These are all positives of cultures that people appreciate, feels good, and maybe even provides health!

For example, I've met these people in my life when I ask about them:

"I'm haitian and chinese!".. eventhough he's American.

I met an AA woman, she was very German, but American!

I met a young man in a shop, dark color, with a mask... he's Haitian... I couldn't discern the accent over the mask. He quickly reciprocated my french in even better French!

Nationality, culture adds depth and connection. With all of it comes assumptions, but further interest.

Nobody says North American, few say South American, African, or Asia. Very general associations.

Colors when used... are basic, very shallow. I don't know anyone when asked to make a presentation announces, "Hi, I'm black and yellow... I'm a bee!" It makes no sense, but these are used in media, govt forms... as media is shallow.

I've had this question from multiple females in ailing relationships recently. Seems an expectation of men that no matter the difficulty, they will keep fighting and come back for the woman... undying love.

... and so I ask about staying power...

Imagine your beautiful mate is everything you wanted and easy, except one thing. Each day, they prick you with a small needle, not worse than a bee sting. It's ridiculous, but it's their way out outletting internal grief and you accepted their cultural behavior because they are perfect in every other way.

How many days of that can you endure.

Obviously there's a point to the analogy. Relationships have some pain which we need to endure, hopefully a lot more good and you learn to work together effectively to make each others lives better, more fun, more joyful, fulfill needs of each.
