I started a new job I've really wanted and have been here for about 5 weeks now. The training is 10 weeks long.
I and an RN (just became one) who are both completely new to dialysis started the same day. Her trainer is great with her and mines is so-so. I've noticed that anytime the other trainee asks questions or is confused, no one has anything negative to say and their behavior behind her back is fine. Yet when I ask it's different. One day I had her trainer and she wasn't nearly as thorough or helpful when it came to me as she was with the RN.
Today the RN started cannulating people ( placing needles in their graft) and her trainer just hyped her up so much to the patients so that they wouldn't mind her trying on them. ("she's an RN, she's done this before..."). She kisses her ass just because she's an RN.
The sadder part is that the few women of my own race can't even back me up and support and come together like they should.
Not having the support and having people have this negative idea of you even when you are doing great, makes everything worse. It's like a domino effect and I hate when this sh*t happens
