my mom was and still is a pretty toxic person. she divorced my dad when I was 3 and took me away from him and then decided to poisoned my head by telling me that it was his fault, that supposedly he never loved me and left me for her to raise me on her own.

I dont even know where to start on all the things she used to do to me while growing up. she used to

• take out all of her everyday stress and frustration out on me
• she used to scorn me whenever I stood up for myself
• always compared/contrast me with my cousins and kids of her friends who supposedly did things better than I did
• limit my friends
• limit my hobbies
• used to take off and leave me behind with relatives and other friends of hers

but it obviously couldnt just end there, as I got older she used to

• treat me like I always her husband
• was obligated to get a job and help out with spending (even though my stepdad made enough)
• pressure me to move out and "get out of her life" literally on a daily basis
• always looked for an excuse to pick fights with me and then acted like a victim when I would retaliate

and the list goes on. After High School I've become a toxic cunt magnet myself, in fact I have 2 older brothers who were in and out of toxic relationships as I grew up. I used to watch them go through all that hell that I promised myself that I will stay single because I dont want to be like them. but again whenever I break this promise the women I show interest or show interest in me always end up showing their true colors later on and end up repulsing to me.

till then I was always told that us humans will always be bound to attract or be attracted to people like our parents. Celebrities like Eminem are a prime example of this as well. so I was wondering should we children of toxic parents just remain single forever? is this our only antidote for peace?

Successful pairings, is something that I've thought about for many years, and I'm very analytical.

Just to be clear, I am talking about adults dating adults, sibling order, and tendencies from childhood that follow us into adulthood.

As a youngest child, I've felt least connected to Eldest children, as it seems they are the more pushy, more opinionated, despite that I was older by 10 plus years.
Better connected to middle children, with no explanation why.
And most connected to youngest children. Youngests seem, to me, to be more patient, more open minded, and the most willing to listen, by and large.
I've never dated an only child before.
There's one exception to that rule, and she was an utterly spoiled, youngest, brat. She had to be the center of attention. Everything had to be about her, and she was the most needy woman I've ever dated.

My current lady love, who is making pull out my hair in clumps, is an eldest, and I'm thinking history is repeating itself. And yet I'm so incredibly in love with her. It just seems, as an eldest, she is used to calling the shots and telling others what to do. Despite that I'm older than her.

I have a friend Alex (62 year old male) whose divorce will be final next month. He was married for 28 years, and the last nine years were devoid of love or sex. He separated from his wife about a year ago. He wanted to start dating, used an online service to meet available women, and candidly disclosed his status as "separated."

He met Linda (56 year old female.) The picture above is not her but she looks very similar; she is a very cute lady. Alex and Linda are in the same profession (architects) and have many common interests. They started dating and their relationship quickly became physical. Alex was very enamored with Linda. They spent weekends together, took a few weekend trips together, and occasionally saw each other during the week. His divorce is not yet final and he is not eager to find his next wife but he will be monogamous with a woman who is a good match for him. Alex is not "in love" with her but has great respect and fondness for her.

At a certain point, she disclosed that she has a serious and progressive renal disorder that will likely result in her needing to have dialysis on a regular basis. People who are on dialysis usually need to have it done three times per week and they cannot travel anywhere without first making arrangements for dialysis at their travel destination. It means that she will progressively become an invalid and her partner will need to be her health care assistant and attendant. But, at present, she is still active. And he is very healthy and actve.

Alex wants to gradually break off the relationship but he feels guilty about making that decision. However, staying with her means a lifetime of taking care of her. So. . . if you were Alex, what would you do?
