We just had a question about how judgmental people are in general. I was surprised. Most people seemed to vote between 7-10/10 and while we see many judgmental people in the world, it was surprising to see that because often times people on forums don't admit to it, or the people posting on forums are often not those type of people.

I also noticed users breaking it down in terms of the type of interpersonal relationship. Dating is where it seems to be the highest, and as a result, I'd like to take a poll focusing only on how judgmental you think you are with respect to dating.

I have to say, as much as I hate judgments, and in spite of the fact that I am very open-minded in general especially when it comes to sexual past (I have a zero-judgment policy in that regard), I'd still probably give myself a "2", which I think is reasonable. You have to have some standards. But I think quite a few people definitely go way too far with ideals and expectations and the prevalence of that in this society is what I am attempting to "measure" with this poll.

Your daughter is very in tune with her emotions (more so than a normal girl), and is a classic romantic at heart. At a young age she expressed her feeling through her paintings and you soon realize she was very talented and supported her when she wanted to pursue a degree in artistry. However, her pursuit for her ideal mate has caused her to date and sleep with a lot of guys. After many failed relationships/one night stands, she has become a bit jaded and emo and tend to have a negative view of men as a whole. She now wonders whether she'll ever find her one true prince.

I have a female friend that started showing some strong but mixed signs of romantic interest in me. We have a lot of mutual friends so we saw each other often. After about a month of back and forth of mixed signals I finally say her down and told her that I was interested in her and that I suspected she was interested in me and that I wanted to know for sure so that we could go on being friends of perhaps something more.

At first she denied having any interest in me, but I knew she had been hurt by guys in the past so I let her know I valued our friendship and that I just wanted to get to know her more, no expectations. After that she opened up and told me all sorts of things about her past and said she needs to trust me, but wants to give me a chance for her to trust me and to get to know me better too. I told her we would just have fun and get to know each other and in three months have this conversation again.

I started keeping a journal about our interactions together primarily because this is the first romantic relationship I've had and I wanted to make sure I learned from the mistakes I made along the way, but for sentimental value too I guess. Things are going well for the most part, but the 3 month mark is only two weeks away now and I can feel she is still a bit afraid to take the leap. When we are around friends she is very comfortable with PDAs like hand-holding, long hugs, light kisses, but when we are alone she is a lot more cautious to do even those same things.

I was thinking about giving her the journal, or at the very least letting her read it. It is solely about her, not my life in general. Do you think that would be something she would enjoy and that it would help convince her that I really do care about her and I'm not like the other guys that have hurt her. Or would it just be creepy? Is it weird for a guy to keep a journal?

We lasted 6 months and we both had thoughts of it lasting forever, all her past relationships had been ended by her and never lasted more than 3 months, she always said i was special and different.
She stare at me and say "you are just too good to be true" and we connected on a deep emotional level.
she began to start feeling "off" and didn't know why, I said I'd be there for anything she needed, but she didn't want to annoy me? and if there were things that i did unintentially i'd agree to stop those small things, but she said if i made those adjustments she'd feel like its cause she told me to, and she doesn't want to change me cause she loves me and doesn't want to change me.
everytime she had a problem, i would pick up her mood and she said "if i ever try to leave you DON'T let me :)" and everything was great.
when she'd feel "off" she had other things going on in her life and i feel that she put it down to perhaps the fact that it was the relationship. she said that how her past relationships ended. (at the beginning). she said she ended them all and doesn't know why, she says they were alll assholes, and that i was soo different.
Eventually she ended it, saying that she still is attracted to me and still loves me, but doesn't know why but she needs space and isn't sure if she's making a big mistake. but the "spark is gone", which i find odd cause yes the stage of obsessive romantic love had ended, but the love and comittment had not. this leaves so many loose ends, she's going through a lot of personal problems that have lasted years but why does she choose to leave when she needs me more than anything?
I respect her decision, but i want to be with her. she had so many small but unrealistic expectations and i came close to perfect with her, but not quiet enough? i dunno.
what are the chances of rekindling this?
