women do get equal pay. have been for a long time already certainly longer than your lifetime.
where's all this feminist stuff in the real world? only place i read, see, or hear about this 'massive movement' is in words on the internet.
do any of you take action?
Never said it was a massive movement, nor did I ever claim to be a feminist myself. The point of this take was to call out all the guys who seem to think its ok to pull the "feminist" card whenever it suits them for their own selfish reasons. I could call out lots of women too, especially celebrities, who do the same, but thats another mytake.
point out the feminists you're referring to.
What kind of action? Society takes place in words.
@ArtDent true in a sense. action would be directing those words formally to local elected officials, or running for mayor, or encouraging someone you think should. etc.
Oh, feminists definitely are active in vetting and promoting candidates and issues and are successful in doing so merely by talking about it, the more something is spoken of as acceptable, the bigger the impact on rule making.
This is how dominant culture and conventional wisdom is manufactured, not in the streets. That's why companies spend billions on advertising.
@ArtDent point out some specific people at the forefront.
Why do you persist in insisting that the hydra have a single head?
Society is changing, why is it changing? Because politicians lick their finger and hoist it into the wind of public opinion.
It's really that simple.
That's why companies spend billions on advertising, because it works.
Movements are grassroots opinion manufacturers and they work as well.
It's nebulous, but that doesn't mean ineffective, it means pervasive.
@ArtDent i requested for some (of many). thats plenty head.
it's a matter of curiousity, not debate.
Yes, but in the asking you are attempting to frame.
You seem to think that only something you can pin down has an effect on the whole.
'It's just a bunch of people talking on the internet'
That's the failing, getting a bunch of people talking about anything, anywhere is a huge goal.
A bunch of people persistently demanding something get what they are demanding. Depending on the stregnth of the counter demands.
@ArtDent i just wanted some amusing characters to read about while im on the toilet. better luck next time.
Oh damn. My bad
Celebrities? The biggest example would be Beyonce Knowles. I've never seen someone made so rich by patriarchal sexism claim to be a feminist more times than her. But she'll say whatever to keep her fanbase I guess. Uh oh here come all the stans to lynch me now...
thank you! gonna go laff at her quotes now.
This is crazy, I think you might be losing your mind, either that or it's time for you to experience the world outside of Feminist safety rooms.
So do what ibsay not what I do then lol. I'm old fashioned and I want am old fashioned woman. Fuck your feminism
"feminist ally and being an effeminate man are not the same thing."
Yes, it is.
I get tired of women trying to force men to accept feminism or come round to their way of thinking, it is all brainwashing. feminism is evil and needs eradicating the damage it has done.
I'm a male feminist, and I'm not "effeminate". Yeah, I'm submissive, but that's not the same, I hate fashion and makeup, I just love dominant girls, but that's not the reason why I support feminism.
I'm super glad you called out the fakesters. Now maybe they can get busy being real men.
Im tired of all these my_takes about feminism and masculinity.
Accusing sympathetic men of being insincere and only chasing tail is only going to further alienate you.
I dont think feminists realise or care how hard it is to be a man in the modern world.
Approvh the guys as much as we do, pay in the dates equally, let your men to wear women dress as you wear jeans and all.
The pay gap is a myth.
it is indeed, women are not paid less then men for the same job on the same grade.
Just make me a sandwich!
Well said. Good my take.
all i can say is "what the hell?" lol
This is ridiculous.
Femnisim No means NO : P
