Keukenhof
Each spring, the Keukenhof Gardens in Lisse come alive with around 7 million blooming flowers in every colour of the rainbow over 32 hectares.
The theme this year of the Keukenhof is 'The Golden Age'. This is the 17th century period in which the Netherlands went through a flourishing era in the fields of trade, arts and sciences. Keukenhof is open from 24 March 2016 up to 16 May 2016.
Bollenstreek (Flower strip)
Stretching for 20 miles between Haarlem and Leiden, the Flower Strip (called the Bollenstreek or Bulb District) is home to the world famous Dutch tulip fields.
The best time to visit the Bollenstreek is from mid-March to mid-May, which is classed as the core season.
Bloemencroso (Flower parade)
Each spring the flower parade goes from Noordwijk and continues along a 40 km route all the way to Haarlem. This year the flower parade is on April 23th.
Tulip Festival in Amsterdam
The tulip is one of the most enduring symbols of the Netherlands and Amsterdam, nowadays you don’t see them as much anymore the tullips festival wants to change that Each spring, the festival celebrates the famous flower and ensures it blooms all over Amsterdam.
King’s day
On King’s Day, held every year on April 27th, we celebrate the brithday of the king but most of all it’s a day to have a lot of fun. Amidst orange-pride, live music, DJs, parties and a citywide street market, you'll find an electric atmosphere not to be missed.
Liberation day
On 5 may the German army surrendered and so the Second Wolrd War ended for the Netherlands, this is a date we celebrate every year on Liberation day. All across there will Music festivals, they have extensive musical programmes and big-name acts relating to the theme of freedom.
One of the biggest events of the day will be the concert on the River Amstel, the artists from diverse musical genres will perform on an enormous floating podium. The concert will be attended by the King and Queen.

Rembrandt's Naked Truth
The Rembrandt House Museum is staging an exhibition about life drawing in Rembrandt’s day. It will provide insight into how nude models were drawn in his time. It will be the first exhibition focusing on the way Rembrandt drew his nudes.
