Neither is good, both socialism and Nazism have a bloody, bloody history. I am not just talking about Communist Russia, but also China, Cambodia, Viet Nam, Cuba, etc etc. It's okay to say that all are wrong.
Except they were all based around stalinism.
There has never actually been a communist country as that would mean there would actually be no government, What actual marxism is happens to be much closer to the modern version of Anarchy
I've read Marx and I understand that if a person is contributing to a society that the society owes that person a living, but it doesn't work in practice. Ayn Rand in her book "Atlas Shrugged" gave a good breakdown of the problems facing communism. She points out that the only reward for exceptional work is more work in communist philosophy, that there is no incentive to try harder then the next guy.
Ayn Rand also would have thought Somalian warlords were just the best guys considering that is how Ragnar acts in Atlas Shrugged, he does the same things that we have sent U. S troops to protect aid shipments from them
True, I'm not a 100% Ayn Rand supporter either. I just read a lot, and try and pick out what wisdom I can, where I can.
When Ayn Rand died she was on public assistance, Medicade and living in public housing. What she says about anything isn't worth 2 cents.
@Viperkiss She also lived through the Bolshevik revolution, and saw the policies first hand. You can learn from people who have opposing views from you, I real feminist literature all the time, I don't necessarily agree with what I read, but it helps to see both sides of an argument.

When I say I'm a communist people instantly assume I agree with Stalin's policies, completely ignorant of the fact that there are several branches to communism as an ideology.
