Pfffttt, Asians. They rely on white people all the time. Like seriously, nothing creative and truly innovative has ever really come out of Asia (there are some past inventions like gun powder but such inventions were never really used to their full potential). Everything Asians make are just better versions of Western products. It's not original.
there's anime and sushi and more recently they where experimenting with 3d printing houses in the Philippines and China though i think it was a British team in the Philippines and developments in AI and robotics in Japan as well as furthering reality a but the majority of innovation and R&D investment is coming from the west.

@DizzyAster It was all hundreds of years ago but the powers that be at the time in my country or rather the 4 countries making up the UK are mostly to blame.
Back then the UK being an island nation and there having been a lot of past conflict between european countries meant we and to a lesser extent other countries in Europe at the time had a particularly strong navy and vastly superior military technology (muskets , cannons and other guns)
They took areas round the world and established themselves in countries for tea , other natural resources and even soldiers often trading for guns.
The industrial revolution happened here in the UK but after a while other countries caught up more weapons wise and we had a war with America for its independence as America use to be a British colony and we lost a lot of other areas again gradually.
On the plus we did bring technology with us such as trains and electricity.

I wish I were Japanese. I love this country. This kind of patriotism is necessary for better survival. It made them competitive in the wars compared to the other Asian countries.
The fact that Japan conquered other countries has absolutely nothing to do with patriotism. There were strong nationalist movements in countries such as Korea and China too, during the first half of the 20th century. The reason for Japan's military success was the simple fact that it was far ahead in terms of industrialization and military technology. Korea had just been forced to open its borders in the 1870s and was basically still a medieval hermit kingdom at that point. China had been exposed to western values since the 17th century but it never embraced industrialization like Japan did. In the 1920s, when Japan began its large-scale military expansionism, China was still dirt poor.
Besides, Japan has things it can be very proud of but the wars and all the horrific crimes against humanity it committed along with the fascists in Europe are certainly not one of them. Shinzo Abe and the majority of Japanese politicians still downplay Japan's dark past or deny it altogether.

What really bothers me is the denial of the atrocities Japan committed in ww2. That generation of Japanese were scum and those who deny what happened are scum also. My Grandmother's brother was tortured to death in a jap pow camp. Fuck those scum.

yeah on both accounts, not that it's perfect by any stretch, just saying Japan contributes a huge amount to the world especially in tech and culture. I also like that they have a different social view on the world compared to the rest of western society. It's also got some difficult financial realities it will have to face in the future.
Japan has many problems no1 being an aging population and low birth rates.
and they only care about increasing ”pure” japanese births, not mixed race or foreigners. the pm made a speech in 2015 saying ”japan can't be accepting refugees cuz we got our own problems like declining birth rate” ...
That's perfectly reasonable, Japan should keep its culture, traditions and racial heritage as Japanese. Plus after seeing what's going on in Europe why would they Japanese want the same.

Yeah western countries tolerance and charity are being abused by those they took in rioting in the streets. The seem to forget what happens to rioters in the countries they originate from.
The average Japanese are very polite, and they are very hard working. I enjoyed my time in Japan.

Your only problem with their luckily and rightfully strong identity is you feel an outsider, treated less well than you'd want to be.
It's human to turn a personal issue and preference into an universalist question, but it's also empty, and not worth any serious response.
Countries and cultures who want to survive and keep existing do what the Japanese, and many others in the East and Middle East, are doing.

i'm not sure if you read the entire thing, sorry for the long, boring post but i use myself and others as examples because well that's the data i have. i'm quite fond of social experiments and i have collected quite a bit of data. voice recorders are very useful for this.
i do quite well when i don't inform anyone of my racial background. people treat me really well and and no one tries to tell me what i am and what i'm worth. i don't give them the power to and they're none the wiser.
i'm not against exclusivism, i'm actually quite conservative. i just find it interesting that a person could know me for awhile whether it's a day or a year and then suddenly feel differently about me after finding out that i'm not ”pure” race like they believe they are. if DNA testing was mandatory we'd see the truth.

if i was a white or half white man in japan or other east Asian country i wouldn't experience these things. i'd be happy that people think i'm fat, obnoxious and barbaric.
it's very unfair and humiliating that i have to be treated like this just because white women have such a bad rep here.
don't worry, i have found a way around it and it's called "don't let em know" and it makes a world of difference. people don't try to challenge, tear me down and put me in my place the moment they find out what my ethnic background is. i have NEVER acted like or said i'm better than anyone else because i don't think so ! so i don't need people to try to hurt me for something i was born with and can't change.

Many Asians are actually very racist towards other Asians. And likewise many Koreans, Chinese, etc. specifically hate Japan for occupying their countries and murdering their people not so long ago.

the hottest men i've seen are east Asian and i'm obsessed with mens' appearance. of course there are only a few fine specimen but a few is better than zero. the only caucasian man i've found attractive was dicaprio in 1997. i lived in california for a long time and all the men i saw were ugly. i couldn't even get attracted enough to give one a chance and go on a date.
That's good for Asian guys, there are lots of Asian girls who totally hate Asian guys.
