Why Feminism Never Was and Never Will Be About Equality.

Every time yet another feminist talks about exterminating all men, cutting off all penises or whatever other vile power fantasies these oh-so-enlightened beings cook up. All these feminists jump in and start yelling

"Those are not real feminists! Those are just teenage girls, who will outgrow this silliness one day, or they are mentally disturbed, or they're just trolls! The real feminists are the ones who fight for equal rights. The ones who achieved women's equal right to vote!"

Women's suffrage is held up again and again as the prime example of feminists demanding and getting nothing more than women being treated equally to men.

First of all: Men's right to vote isn't much older than women's. Feminists like to make it sound as if in the middle ages, the male peasants walked from their fields to the voting booths every four years to elect the new king.
Secondly, it was conditional. In order to be allowed to vote, men had to serve in the military. When women got the right to vote, it was simply handed to them. A gift to make up for the hardship of staying at home while their husbands, fathers and sons fought and died for their country.

In Germany, like in the US and many other places, we have women in the military. But as with everything else, it is their choice. Men have to spend a year of their lives in mandatory service, women have to do fuck all. (There is an alternative for men who cannot in good conscience pick up arms. They can do a slightly longer "civil service" and help out in social programms and the like. Again, women don't have to.)

Coming in 2017, we will have this wonderful new thing called the Frauenquote, i.e. women's quota. From that point forward, every publicly traded company has to have a quota of at least 30% women in its board of directors. (This is of course completely independent of the quota of women working in the company as a whole.)

How do we know that this is not about equality? If a company's board of directors consists of 100% women, that's perfectly fine.

Private companies are expected to be the next target.

Feminism is not, never was and never will be about equality. For over a century now, it has been about giving women what men have to earn for themselves, be it the right to vote, a promotion straight to the top or a husband's money.

I want to also echo your point about how feminists always use "feminazis" as their scapegoat. How convenient it must be to be able to always point a finger at someone else and blame all their own bad behavior on those other women. Here's the truth: feminazis are not the problem with feminism; ALL feminists are the problem with feminism. Supporting the feminist banner today is supporting all of the dishonesty, sexism, hypocrisy and hatred of the feminist movement and is unforgivable.

Oh so insightful. Thank you for the example on common sense. Rape is something that can happen to anyone, but you think it's alright to make jokes on the appearance of victims. I've worked as a social worker for owner two years and volunteered for a place named Rural Human Resources. It's because of people like you some rape survivors are ashamed of reporting their assaults.

However there is some truth to what you say, rape could happen to any person but it's highly unlikely if said person is unattractive. People rape because they want to get release, having sex with an unattractive person won't satisfy the rapist, so there's no point.

That's where you're wrong. You say that because you're mentality isn't as twisted. As a person who has worked with people like this it varies from size and looks and ages. I've delt with cases from children to old ladies. To most people sex equals gratification with someone who's attractive to us. But to others it's about power, inflicting pain, or they get off from the fear of helpless people. Though fortunately in my case someone heard me and came to help, the man holding me down said that my screams only turned him on more. I was only fourteen and I got the help on time. But shaming victims based on whatever is not alright and it's hurtful.

Emm so where do I even start, there is so many things wrong with this first of all the fact men got to vote years before women ( the first time men were allowed to vote was in 1867 and the first time any women were allowed to vote was in 1920 which I think you will find is 53 years which is not just a few measly years but actually quite a long time !! ) doesn’t change the fact that they still had this simple human right a few years before Women and they got it handed to them ( even if it was only for some at least some men were allowed on vote because no women were at all ) where as women had to fight for the simple right that men already had and lots of women actually died fighting for their right to vote and to have the equal opportunity’s men had 53 years before. The length of time men have been able to vote, and requirements put on them in the past to have had to vote, have absolutely nothing to do with women voting. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Your first two points are irrelevant.

Also, there are no firms with a 100% female board in Germany. Even if there was one or two, it'd still obviously be easier for men to get a board position than it would be fore a woman. You're right that it'd be legal for a board to be 100% female, but that ain't gonna happen anytime soon. It'd be like making a law that says monkeys can't recite Shakespeare in public.

Feminism was and still is about equality in certain parts of the world/country. Maybe you haven't paid attention to what is legal in certain American states. Discrimination is still legal.

I on the other hand have researched this subject thoroughly, and I agree that what he is saying is generally correct. In the US the draft was tied directly to the vote for the common man, no vote no draft. Suffrage on the other hand was opposed by some women on the grounds that they didn't want to be drafted (the anti-suffrage league specifically states this in their existing literature). Also many of the women in the British suffragette movement were also members of the white feather movement, and when women got the vote in there many men also got the vote, or in other words women wanted the vote in spite of the fact that most men did not have the vote, yet felt that compelling men, boys both young and old and feeble to go and die was a perfectly fine hobby for an egalitarian. I'd be happy to trade you source for source on this if you want.
