Midterm Crises:

As we all know president Donald Trump has been one of the most foolish figures in world politics since the moment he decided to run for president. His writing, actions, and words speak for themselves. This has caused a loss of hope, credibility, and support from his colleague, allies, cabinet, political party, and even supporters.

The Media

Freedom of Speech and the media has been fiercely attacked during the trump administration. We have heard comments as "You've gotta watch @CNN, what a fraud it is." or "Google search results for “Trump News” shows only the viewing/reporting of Fake News Media. In other words, they have it RIGGED, for me & others, so that almost all stories & news is BAD. Fake CNN is prominent. Republican/Conservative & Fair Media is shut out. Illegal? 96% of...."

And now after accomplishing nothing with its dispute against google, trump has targeted facebook and twitter. Claiming that, "we have literally thousands and thousands of complaints coming in. ... So I think that Google and Twitter and Facebook, they're really treading on very, very troubled territory and they have to be careful."

As it is not a surprise, it wasn’t long before Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey had to testify in the House for republican accusations that Twitter demonstrates bias against conservatives. But once again, Trump fail trying to force changes upon the social media giant.

The Protesters

But that is not the only way Trump has tried to oppress the freedom of speech of the media and the people.

On Tuesday hours after Trump's Supreme Court nominee, Brett M. Kavanaugh, was greeted by protests on the first day of his confirmation hearings Trump gave an interview to the daily caller were he said the following, “I don’t know why they don’t take care of a situation like that, I think it’s embarrassing for the country to allow protesters. You don’t even know what side the protesters are on. In the old days, we used to throw them out. Today, I guess they just keep screaming.”

Despite those harsh words, some people will understand. Perhaps is another of Trump non-sense comments, perhaps the protester did cross the line.

But if we pay attention to what Trump has said about protesters in the pass, you will be surprise.

Feb 1, 2016: Trump urged violence against protesters at his rallies.

Now, we can talk about the unprofessionalism of trump, how he is a bad politician or just simply he doesn’t care about solving these issues. But as I showed with the medias, when trump wants to crash the freedom of speech he will go for it.
Has tried with google and twitter, luckily, he failed. But what makes you believe he will not go against the right to protest? Will he use his influence to give jail time to protesters? It is a possibility, let’s not forget that in Trump's America our freedoms will stop where the interest of the few begin.

Very good MyTake. I agree that Trump is an embarrassment to the US and really to mankind in general. He certainly hasn't proven to be a mature and civil adult - either in video or in online print (Twitter, for example). I personally will NOT vote for Trump for a 2nd term. Other people have their rights to vote for him or not. But I am NOT. The leader needs to have a cool and sane head. We haven't had that in decades. Be careful who you vote for in the next election. It very well could be the same-old, same-old in terms of political leadership. Unfortunately, it is VERY LIKELY that it will be - until people step up and turn this around. Likely, YOUNG people.

freedom of speech doesn't mean fake news. I'm not aware on the whole trump saga, but given who runs the media outlets it wouldn't surprise for them to try and make sure people revolt against Trump.

And I'm experiencing that first hand in a country where fake news is used on a daily basis to intoxicate, trying to overturn a Government elected with the highest scores since Communism fell down. And the election was the cleanest and overseen by European Monitors.

Yet someone is not happy and if we look at it, NGOs that are funded by Soros through his foundations OR people that benefited by his money for research and scholarship are the most aggressive and vocal people.

Propaganda that also involves Facebook messages and comments, that people don't even bother to check or verify at the source, but rather consider them true because that information has "likes" by the thousands. It surely must be true ain't it?
Even Zucker said that Facebook might be used the wrong way from the outside. And how easy it is for that to happen, it makes me laugh.

People using facebook and repeating the fake news do not even consider that they are manipulated because "why would Soros do that when he has that much money, what's in it for him".

And it's scary how easily I was able to personally debunk some incredible FAKE NEWS.

one of the stations shouting against the government is in insolvency for more than 7 years and they somehow manage to air and pay for their equipment, the costs, the employees, though it cannot be explained economically as they have really poor ratings anyway.
Other, rather obscure companies, are pumping money into this station.
The court doesn't seem to want to solve the insolvency situation with a final decision and the station is still opened 7 years after the saga started.
So transparency on funding would definitely solve this one.

They claimed that he said immigrants where criminals when he specifically stated ILLEGAL ALIENS where more likely to have a criminal record (which they statistically are). They have stated that the separation of children from (unfit) parents at the boarder was due to Trump when in fact this has been going on for years and was enacted by OBAMA. HOWEVER, he has never stopped the media from saying what ever they want. He has not violated any laws, he has not tried to retract any laws that would cause the suppression of the freedom of speech. But you know who has? Obama. He had 38 different journalist groups protest him about his suppression of information and obstructing the freedom of information act, he tried and prosecuted more whistle blowers, more journalist then any other president in history, his last act of president was to revoke a law that prevented the CIA from using propaganda against the American people. So no, he has not done anything to harm freedom of speech. His supporters support him more then ever and our country has been doing far better then it has before. He said he wanted 4% economic growth, the media said this would never happen it would be impossible. We got 4.1% economic growth. He has decreased taxes, the average wage has actually increased for blue collar workers (and slightly for white collar workers). Mean while the left has been creating laws to repress the freedom of speech through the "misgendering" laws and actively attacking any one who does not toe the liberal line through Antifa (who claims that any one they disagree with is a Nazi and because they have decided they are Nazi's they are allowed to violently assault them.). I normally consider "Freedom of Speech" to only be concerned with the government not taking legal action against a citizen for something they've said/written.

However, using political science terminology, taking legal action is an example of the use of negative coercive power on behalf of the government. When the President of the United States attacks the press, the end result is the same: the figurehead of the Federal government is using negative coercive power against the press as a result of something they've said/written. To me, this violates the spirit of the law (the First Amendment) if not the letter of the law.

This kind of behavior is the foundation of how people like Donald Trump can be so successful. The only thing that matters to them is the letter of the law and not what that law means. They're all about loopholes and technicalities that the rest of us are too principled to exploit.

For example, Mr. Trump is adhering to the letter of the law by not taking legal (police) action against news organizations and individuals who are critical of him, but this is just a technicality because it's clear to everyone that the intent of the First Amendment was to protect citizens from coercive force from the government because of their speech.

We may say things like "Oh it's Trump saying that personally and not the government" but when it comes down to brass tacks, he represents the Federal government and all of its power. That's what the office of the President is and does, and he's unfortunately the guy who currently holds that office.

Or what about the footage of camps for immigrants, who had and have to live in relatively poor conditions. When the footage was released, everyone got mad at Trump, because no one had actually stated: ''By the way, these are photos from 2015, when Obama was in charge''.

Or what about the Time magazine, with that famous child on the cover, whom was separated from her mother so called, when in reality the child was never separated from her mother, as her father says.
